PostSubject: Two small rhinoes    Fri Aug 26, 2011 8:34 pm

This may not be anything fantastic, but I am so pleased with them that I HAVE to show you Laughing

To get another figuere I had to take a Bullyland rhino also, which I had already.
I just put it away, but fortunately this morning I took a second look because the new one had the old tag that says both Bully and Bullyland.

And, YESS !!! They are variants !! drunken

Can somebody tell me, - in the catalogue they are just called "Rhinoseros".
Don`t they look like Indian Rhinoes ? scratch

Yes, the funny thing is, that at that time they were called "Wild animals large", as opposed to the Minis and the Micros scratch
Then came the the "De Luxe" series, the real big size that they mainly make today.

In the ´10 and ´11 catalogues they don`t call the figueres De Luxe size anymore, as far as I can see, because they are generally all that size.

I love the size of the old small "large" ones Very Happy

And while I wrote this, Harriet sent a reply, - thankyou, Harriet Very Happy
Yes, they may be Sumatra Rhinoes scratch
They made a Sumatran Mom and baby, but they were much larger.
But as I was just thinking/writing about, they made the same species in different sizes.

Unfortunately I only have the baby.
I know one of our friends has them both ( the large Sumatran rhinoes) , sorry I can`t remember who, but it would be great with a picture here to compare Very Happy

I think you're probably right, it's a smaller version of the large sumatran rhino and calf - it would be great to see a comparison picture. bounce
Willy also has two colour variations

Thankyou Willy flower sunny

Yes, at a first glance they look much like the baby of the ones marked like Janvan Rhino, but these are different and have only "Bullyland Germany Handpainted" on them.

Here together with the "official" Javan Rhino-baby :

Yes, you have to be careful buying Bullyland on Ebay without knowing the size - like you I once ended up with a MEGA soft-toy monster-animal Laughing

Here are the "large", mini and micro-rhinoes

Not according to their catalogue.
The wildlife animals are all what was previously called "De luxe" size.
As far as I can see, anyway Wink

I actually don't know when they stopped, or if they stopped to make different sizes... Rolling Eyes
My black rhino is the same as yours Harriet, but more in the 1:32, scale as your is more like 1:20, and both are not very old... Laughing
