OK, friends, although I share most of your wish-lists, let's post our wishes and dreams in other threads. And leave this one for guesswork and actual info.

I recently acquired the Papo zebu. I don't collect that line, but it is such a lovely figurine that I simply couldn't resist... Wink

If Schleich could make one of that quality, I would be over the moon, as they say!

Sure, why not? And while we're at it, maybe yellow and green anacondas and electric eels!

At the playing cards from Schleich, there are photos from a black panther, a hawk and a porcupine.
So i think that would be new figurines for 2012

But those are already available in the Bayala series. Maybe Schleich will start selling them separately?

I really hope so. I want this porcupine but it's too expensive for me as for now Neutral

By the way, speaking of the Snowy Owl possibility - Schleich has given another hint in their 2011 preview PDF, concerning birds:
"We are going to approach the new developments in the World of Birds with a significant change in the body position in 2011. Giving them the opportunity of spreading their wings ready to fly will equip them with a much better play value and will make them more impressive."
Doesn't it mean that Schleich (finally!) will expand their birds line-up? If we believe in this, and take into account the above mentioned expansion of the Polar World, there are big chances to see a polar bird by Schleich in 2012. And snowy owl seems to be the best candidate from marketing point of view - it's beautiful, recognizable and lives in the same biotopes as polar foxes.
Other Arctic candidates have worse chances to my mind: snow geese look very much alike domestic ones, swans are already available, Canadian goose isn't well known to be exactly an Arctic bird...
What do you think, friends?

That's interesting! What you've said sounds probable. It would be so great if they made a snowy owl - I also like the sound of a Canada Goose. bounce

I'm agreed snowy owl will be probably (reading all your coments about their 2011 preview pdf) one of the new figures on 2012.
Then maybe will be a new line of birds, the polar one (I think that not only animals) and they will go on with the hero's line (they're making a lot of merchandaising about them)
In that case I don't think that they will do many changes or new items in other lines Sad

It would be cool if Schleich made these ungulates, no doubt! Although, I would prefer tree-dwelling species, monkeys and parrots for example...

Well, again like always, there is a wishlist, and what comes eventually... Rolling Eyes
I like to be realistic, so i think that the next animals will appear in 2012:

Some horses and farmlife like always, as they are the biggest income for Schleich.
1-3 Dogs breeds, in families or not.
Hopefully and finally a austrich female
Female kudu
Female Cape buffalo
Finally a new hippo family
I hope a new African elephant family in a bigger scale, same for the Asian elephants
Yak female and calf maybe
The last tigers were not populair, so maybe new tigers
New polarbear male, as they want to expand their polarlife.(standing position like the old one again)
So there are some possibilities as mentioned before:
Snowy owl
Reinderfamily or karibu-family
New beluga's and narwhals hopefully
Leopard seal, or any artic seal

This is all i can guess realisticly seen... Rolling Eyes Laughing

You know, I see nothing outstanding in this figurine. It looks like peregrine falcon, and there are two peregrines at the market already - by Collecta and Bullyland.
If Schleich made any other bird of prey apart from traditional bald eagles and peregrines... Even a golden eagle would be very nice.

It all sounds logical. But remember last year - we'd been expecting to see female ostrich, tapir calf and other family extensions (we might have predicted it after seeing leopard and jaguar cubs in 2010). But none of those came.

What about a Cassowary, Rhea or Emu?
I love Emus. I used to work with an Emu named Ralph, and he was the silliest thing.

I just found this picture off the MPV forum - could it be a 2012 Falcon? I'm not sure if it's just a repaint, but I don't recognise the model scratch the photo is pretty bad

The last bird from Schleich birds of prey series desapeared only last year. In 2011 it was replaced for another bald eagle, the silver wings! The wing spread bald eagle was the only survivor from the old series and remember it was the only with open wings! The remaining had a short life! Reading some comments and seeing the catalogue it looks Schleich is starting a kind of new birds of prey series but this time introduced in regular wild life. Schleich had before a peregrine falcon but now is probabily trying with open wings like the Bullyland! I believe it is a Schleich but in an early stage of the paintwork. The falcon choice is obvious since we are talking about Schleich and this bird is turning very popular again.

My predictions are very similar to those from Willy! It's incredible but I was also thinking in a reindeer and a standing polar like the old one! Maybe we are wrong but is always easy to be wrong! Rolling Eyes

We can speculate & analyze the upcoming releases in 2012. Sometimes it turn up to be another disappointment, But I read somewhere before "that is going to be a bird year for 2012!! It maybe something to look forward & by looking at the picture It's look fantastic!!

Hello, I'm new here to this forum and I just hope schleich comes out with new farm animals like for instance goats.
Papo's are great but those are the only good models of gpats out there so I think and hope that schleich will come out with some breed of goats.

Also I think there will be new breeds of horses just because they've made them every year.
Thank You,
Tyler Loew Very Happy
