Why does Papo assembles the parts of the animal? (Look at the body of the pelican or the leg of the Gorilla)

That's interesting to know that!

Some of he old ones are much worse, if that is any consolation

I don`t know why Papo continues making many of their models in this very old-fashioned way.
Many of their models are not glued, even if they are complicated, so they CAN do it right

Anyway I consider it one of the charms of it, - sort of "kitch"

Every brands have their factory limitations. We see electrifying figures in Papo but this way of assembling is not very apealing for my taste! I don't have any problem saying that their last figures are much more exciting than Schleich but they should learn with the German brand in fabricating! Even Safari is not very good with painting, for example. Schleich and Mojo Fun are the best finishing their products, maybe that's the reason why we don't see very unusual poses in these 2 brands!

And Safari and - probably - Schleich are making exactly the same model without glue

Perhaps Papo`s production equitment is geared to make the wonderful human models of knights, pirates etc, that they made originally ?
Or it could be as simple as them having some old, conservative production managers, who won`t use new methods

Ok, I'll ask my gorilla how do he feel in this pose! Maybe it is not complicated for a gorilla but in fabrication, I also want to know. I also can see clearly seams in my CollectA baboon but they are not deep as in Papo gorilla. In Safari figures I see some raised spots of plastic that I also really don't like. We must visit a factory!
Susanne, the pelican and gorilla choices are not casual as it was not the Asian elephant!

Papo isn't the only company that does that. Look at some of the photos from Safari on their Facebook. Their Incredible Creatures veiled chameleon's head and neck are like that too.

those figurines also have assembled parts, and especially for the orca, it's definitely not good looking

The orca is a very good example
What is better, a completly wrong orca without seams or a nice orca with seams? Well, the most part of customers, not us collectors, are not able to see what is wrong in a Schleich orca, anyway all customers can see the seams! But I agree, the best is to find a nice orca without seams and preferrably cheap!

The Papo Cheetah has a seperate lower jaw, this makes it look like a puppet I don't like the glued on parts either, but you don't notice from a distance.

Who could show me a better and more impressive croc than the PAPO one among the majors ?

Again, The PAPO orca has got a glued lower jaw but I can see it is a nicer and more realistic orca than the SCHLEICH one

it sure would be interesting to learn why they do this with some figures. It's a pity because it can spoil an otherwise wonderful figure: the new reindeer for example.

On the other hand, i love that the old "nuclear accident" sheep are pieced together. they're already so stupid looking that the weird construction makes them even funnier. The old ram's horns are glued on, and it looks like maybe even his whole head is. I think the ewe's head is one piece, but her legs are glued on!!!
No wonder their poor lamb looks so confused!


Has anyone had problems with Papo pieces breaking apart at the glue seams? i'm worried about my ewe's legs snapping off.
