When you have a look on your version, are there any scratches, and when yes is under the scratch red rubber ore brown rubber?

Your light version is darker than my light version! Yours is a medium one :)

It has dark brown rubber under the scratches. I tried to take a decent photo of the little scratches it has, but it was impossible... They were so blurry! They are very small to be well shown in a "normal" pic. So I can´t show you the scratches.

It was available from 95 and retired in 04 (´03 the last year it was made), so it was made for a considerable period of time.

PostSubject: The old wild boar   Mon Mar 28, 2011 10:19 pm

This morning I got a huge box (box of the week, Robert Wink ) from Germany. Almost 5 kg of plastic !!!!

It was a gamble. Shipping was almost half the price, so I did not expect there to be gold in it. At first I thought, - well, more junk for the kids to play in the sand with.
But there WERE some goodies, when I got it cleaned and sorted out. Mainly AAA, but also Safari, Bullyland and :

An old black boar from Schleich ! Shocked
I have had the old ones for many years, and always thought they were brown, but checking in Gascher`s the old boar is black and the sow is brown.

Isn`t that what one dreams about if buying a bunch of mixed plastic-junk ???
To find some schleich you did not know existed.

Perhaps it is not news at all to you, but to me it is cheers

Here the two old brown wild pigs and the black one. The Wild boar from ´03 to the right for comparison Very Happy

Nice variation Susanne!
Specially on darker figurines there are many variations in the colour of the material and painting, this was already so in the 1960's and 1970's, so much more to collect then we wish for... Rolling Eyes Laughing

The differents on the manes are minimal.

And the colour is a lttle bit brightlier.

The last one was sold for EUR 40,51.

What do you mean, it is not crazy to sold 40 Euro for it.

I continue seeing both manes equal... Differences can be because of the handpainting, as in any other one...

But the same differents should be on 50 pieces.

So the handpainter could be having a bad monday. LOL

So finally, what´s the diffference between one mane and other? It seems to me that the different one could be the blazed horse´s mane, it looks bad painted; the not-blazed horse´s one looks normal to me.

I forgot to say... I told this to a friend of mine, who has some Schleich horses. She told me she´s going to have a look at her horses (she has some of them, but now they are "hidden" because she´s not interested on them anymore) because she thinks that her Haflinger doesn´t have the blaze. I think she´s wrong... But I hope not because she told me that if it´s the no-blazed one she will give it to me Very Happy

Sylvia, you must show us as soon as you get him, please bounce bounce Very Happy

This subject made me check haflingers, and found that these two are rather different from each other.

The one to the left has a much more narrow head. It is made in Germany.
I bought the other one recently because the paintjob was better, he is made in China.

The German ine with the dark around the eyes has a thicker chin seen from the side:

The Chinese did a more carefull job painting the mane Wink

It could be fun to see if others have ones made in China or Germany, - if they simply had different moulds in the two countries, - and if the paintwork of my German one was just a "monday-model" Very Happy
