Plaho Malayan tapir

Hello,

knows everybody this figurine of Plaho? This Tapir should be produced for a short time in 1979, but coloring was too expensive so Plaho decided to make the simplier Lowland tapir

Gosh, it is BEAUTYFUL

I have never heard about it. It must be very, very rare to find.
Something to go looking for by the people who find old Plaho where they live

It is a fake.
It never was this tapir.
And, not the body was painted black with white, but the normal gray body was painted with black paint. If you look at the photo closely, you can see it quite clearly.

No news, but the author confirmed to me the error. The matrix was not black, he was painted black.
The figure is just a hobby painting, he would not confirm, however.
Mistakes happen ever again ...

I was just thinking, it's funny, how there are many Malayan tapir figures, but not many(any) of the Bairds, Mountain, or Brazilian....

I do have his catalogue to, and in there the moose was only made after the time of Plaho, so a later Marolin model.
You are never to old to learn, we all know!
But i guess, the monkee and apes groups are all from the later Marolin time, isn't it?

Someone may have asked you this question before, but I will ask "What is the ratio of the Plaho figures? Are they all the same ratio or scale or are they different sizes like other companies?"

I really like your Plaho figures. :)
