PostSubject: Mojo Zebra and Clydesdale   Tue Sep 20, 2011 11:10 pm

There is a shop in town that sells Safari and Papo, but they only have a limited selection of each. I have noticed the last few times I've gone in that they never have anything new, and some of the figures are marked clearance. So yesterday I visited and I found out why. They now carry MOJO!!!!

At first I was very excited, but after looking through the animals I was a little disappointed. It seems they will still carry some Safari as well, but Papo will be no more. Sad The Mojos are nice enough, but nothing like Papo.

But nonetheless, a couple Mojos did find their way home with me. Wink

First is the male zebra. He's not great, but he does have that charm that some not-so-great figures can get away with.

Here he is shown with the Schleich male zebra.

There were two Mojo horses, the Lipizzaner mare and the Clydesdale stallion. After much debate I finally settled on the Clydesdale. His paintjob almost has a greenish tint to it, but he does have a very sweet face.

And shown with the Schleich Clydesdale gelding for comparison.

As far as the other Mojos there were several dinosaurs, male lion, hyena, sheep, piglet, maybe a moose? That's all I remember from the top of my head.

I hope you like the photos and thanks for letting me share. :)

Wow, Kristie!!! What a Face You've found a local shop with Mojo figures!!! I think you are the first posting Mojo figures that are not gifts or bought online! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
I find the figures beautiful even I recognise the Schleich zebra is better! But remember, Schleich has a long history making zebras while Mojo started this year and it is one of the best Schleich of ever, see the previous!
I'm really glad you find them. Don't be disappointed not finding Papo there is always someone available to help you finding it! :)
Won't you get the Mojo sheep???

Thank you Roger! :)

I may go look again at the sheep. I don't have a single sheep in my collection. Carolynn will not like me for this, but I'm just not a big sheep fan.
I like pigs and cows. pig
But I only had money for two and I was already agonizing over which horse to get. lol.

I really, really do like the zebra. His stance is brilliant!

I understand you! Laughing I'm sure the sheepgirl will love to know it! affraid Wink
I agree about the stance, I think Robert have the same opinion! Very Happy I'm not sure what would be your opinion about Papo zebras! I will tell Mojo to make a smiling zebra next time! :)

Thank you Harriet, Carolynn, and Ken!

Harriet, yes I was VERY surprised to see Mojo in the Hobby Lobby! I picked up the Clydesdale first cause I didn't recognize him and then I saw "Mojo" on the tag! :)

Carolynn, I would love to know what horses and cows and pigs you have. But I'm afraid don't have any sheep to trade. Sad

Reminds me of a Merry-Go-Round zebra. Personally, Mojo's just not my style.

hehe. He does look kind of like a Merry-Go-Round zebra!

Roger says to give Mojo a chance. But for now I do agree that their figures are kind of generic. I know that all the brands are really toys first and collectibles second, but these really do fall into the toys category.

WOW ! You got a local Mojo-shop affraid

Congratulations with these new, lovely models, - I love the zebra cheers
The only thing is that he has such straight pasterns. He won`t last long running on hard ground Wink

But I surely must add him to my collection if I ever have the possibility Very Happy

Thankyou for great and informative pictures flower

"Give Mojo a chance", "No chance" especially when there are other nicer lines(Papo, Safari ltd.) that I like so much better. Even Schleich is way better than Mojo!
I mean if you just have to have EVERY brand and every animal figure, more power to you!
Once again, to me Mojo is a much lesser version of CollectA!

Papo first chance

Papo second chance

I will give Papo a 3rd chance!!! Even CollectA makes it better! :)
Obsession is enemy of reason!
Mojo has the best starting range of all modern brands

Kristie, I was a severe critic of this figure but with your pictures, much more I watch it much more I love it! Mojo zebra is full of personality! If I was a zebra mare... Rolling Eyes Wink

This is a really good review Very Happy

I can`t help looking at the pasterns because they are so important for movement :
- Mojo much too steep
- old Schleich no pasterns at all Shocked
- old Papo too long and soft
- new papo, - really good pasterns cheers So there IS improvement Laughing Laughing

I would not mind Ralf queHarriet or make me a beautiful Grevy's zebra with this model,
It looks aurra pride!
I hope you accept this chalange thank you in advance .......

Best zebra is Schleich Grazing zebra(Schleich female standing not too bad)! I totally agree Papo definitely needs to make a better zebra! Sorry, but can't agree with you about CollectA zebra. Actually the Kaiyodo zebra rolling position in my opinion is the best(Due to detail and great position)!
Plus, pretty much any company starting any product that has already been produced has an advantage to go on and make a better version(If they're smart), because they have something to go on.
As said before, I just don't care for the Mojo style. Nothing against it, just definitely not my style.

I will give Mojo another chance! Especially since they will be one of the few brands available to me local. :)
I will get better pictures of the zebra and Clydesdale when the sun decides to show itself again.

Congrat on your 2 new additions!
The zebra might not be the best, but for sure not the worst to! Laughing
I like him so far, although he lacks some personality IMHO.
But i am pretty sure that Mojo will work on the details of their models in the coming years. Very Happy

This zebra is too majestic... It´s not bad but it´s like copy of CollectA´s zebra... Ofcourse Papo is the worst with zebras... maybe they are too hard to make... scratch

The problem is that this zebra does look to primitive, or maybe to toyish... Laughing
The manes are going to far through to the front of the head, the stripes are not correct, not even for the most common Grants plain zebra, it is to high, and it looks to proud for a zebra, more like a positioned picture for a full-bred horse, so not natural.
But like i said before, Mojö is a young brand, and there is so much more to improve.
They showed that they are able to make some great models and species, where other modern brands don't... Rolling Eyes Wink
