I've been working on this for some time, it took me longer as I had to think up a way to make her stand - the chick and base were the idea and it worked really well. This commission is for someone's anniversary and had to be completed by October - they haven't seen it yet, you're the first Very Happy
She's just under six inches tall, not including the base.

Ohhh, the beautyful bird that brings spring to Denmark cheers
We call it Vibe, pronounced "Veeebah", and that is waht it says.
Flying over the fields the broad wings flash in white and metallic black , and the air rings with the the charactristic shout Weeebah !

She makes her nest on the ground, and if a fox approaches, she will limp away pretending her wing is broken. The fox follows her away, and when the nest is safe, she flutters up, shouting abuse at the stupid predator Laughing

Harriet, you have made the most wonderful model of this lovely bird and her chick, my heart almost jumped when I saw it... FANTASTIC ! Beautyful ! Perfect bounce bounce cheers

I hope you don`t have plans to become a fireman or astronaut, because you ARE an artist cheers

That's interesting Susanne, we call them Peewit because of the noise they make! They're such sweet birds, I love them too. I love you and clever, you're right they're incredibly protective of their young.
