Bullyland polar bear repaint - Ursus maritimus

Some day ago i got a very dirty and rubbed bullyland polar bear. I am not interested in the species and i think a big part of figurines available are toyish and too cute. and. too white. A polar bear isn't a plushy creature, stroking seals all day. It can even get older.
So i decided to repaint it. unfortunatley i don't have a good pic of the original, maybe someone can help?

Repainting a polar bear should be one of the most incredible exercises. As you know their coat is transparent with hollow hairs filled with algae over a black skin. So what we see, is a kind of dirty white.
I agree that almost all manufacturers paint them excessively white but that's only because they sell better. What would think a children seeing a white bear with a dirty looking?
The paintwork is very good and you should feel proud of your work, but it deserved a somewhat better sculpting like the WS Safari, for example, don't you agree?

Of course, sculpting, especially of the head, isn't best. But this project accidently hit me, so i know now what to do.

I agree with you about the world of reality with kids. :)
But, when I tell to my niece that a polar bear is white she says:
- So beautiful!!!
When I say that they are transparent, with black skin and algae, she says:
- So liar.

Congratulation Philipp, black or white repainting are the less easy to do IMHO. You succeed very well... Especially because it is not white but transparent with...
