So did I finally get a Bullyland Archaeopteryx?

... I got two! ;D
One was going to be for repainting, but guess what? Turns out one's a variation!
Don't know if you can make it out, but the left one's tag is marked Staatliches Museum für Naturkunde, Stuttgart, the other one says Naturhistorische Gesellschaft, Nürnberg.

The Nürnberger has a red crest and red tips on the tail and wings.

Not having seen the regular version I can't say for sure which is the variation, though it seems likely the "Nürnberg specimen" is the one simply because it looks like an enhanced version of the other one. Got any info, Bullyland oracles?

Gosh !
Sumo, not only did you get the Archie, you got a fantastic variation cheers

CONGRATULATIONS bounce bounce cheers Very Happy
Ooooh, I hope to find that one some day Very Happy

Perhaps they like more ornaments in Nürnberg, the good, old centre for manufacturing of lovely toys ? Rolling Eyes Wink

My blue Archies are a little different from each other, and one has only the ordinary tag, but NOTHING like yours :

I am sure it is the Nürnberger-Archie that is the true rarity, - but of course I am no expert Wink
Perhaps you should ask Bullyland and hope they know ?

Typical it should end up with me, of all people - the one who doesn't collect SRs at all! My Stuttgart one will probably be repainted though.

According to the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] it's still available in the museum shop - the one in the photo doesn't have the red dots, but I'm going to assume the actual models do.

Susanne, I love your Archies! The one on the right looks very blue, does he have any green body shading at all?

Thankyou Sumo, Yes, he does have a little greenish, but the shade is differnet, - very hard to show in artificial light like the kind I have.

If it helps, I got mine from sandspielfiguren.de, you could always ask them if they have any more Nürnbergers.
BTW, I think of mine as the male - male birds usually have the fanciest plumage, don't they? Wink

I tried to get this figurine over the link of the museum to, but they don't sell it from there as they said.
They gave me a link to another site, but they were outsold there to... Crying or Very sad
