Yes ! I got the beluga !!!! :-))

For several years I had the sea lion, sea elefant, seals,walruss and octopus. But I certainly dod not want the whales, sharks etc.

Then I joined this forum So about a year ago I began looking for them all.

And today I got the last one, - THE BELUGA

She has a few scratches, but who cares ? I don`t
She is lovely, - and she is made in Portugal

I would so much want to collect al the sea animals, and I do have a few, including the beluga. But they are so expensive I have to settle for buying one or two a year. But hey, it´s better than nothing

Yes, some of them are darned expensive, esp if they are flawless
Many of mine have had a good life as toys for some child, before they came here.
But I have just seen in TV that most of them have scars and torn flippers in real life too, so that is ok

Tha whales also take up a lot of space, - but they ARE beautyful

a really nice figurine also in my wish list and also looking for it a long time ago... but prices are really expensive.

Now the number one in my list, the elephant seal, will arrive to my home that week, I hope :) It's not so pretty as the beluga anyway

The dumb thing about the whales are that it´s not just the retired figurines that are expensive. The whales you can still buy in store are very expensive too, some of them over 25euro

of course, that is because of their size, but it´s still a lot of money

There i have bought only one time. Never again.

One example:
There the Blauhai costs 3,89 Euro. Insured with DHL 8 Euro shipping costs in Germany.
At bayby-markt.de 3,50 Euro. Insured with DHL in Germany 2,90 Euro shipping costs. Over 20 Euro the shipping is free.

Congratulations Susanne, the beluga is wonderful and you are right, scratched is much more realistic, mainly in whales!
Yes, I also love them but they are very large and expensive, except to Peter that buy them with factory prices!
Fortunately Sue, that I don't see here already for a long time, explained me how can I collect whales... my beluga is very small but also very nice, from brand Colorata. The worst is that I find here Schleich wales everywhere and none from Colorata!
Schleich should sell them cheaper here because they are made in Portugal!

Congrats on finding the beluga finally Susanne!
It is true that it is hard to find one without any scratches, but that is only natural as you mentioned.
It isn't the most realistic looking beluga in the business, but a must have for a Schleich collector.
After restarting my Schleich collection, it was one of the first items i was hunting for, as the experience from before helped me to find the rarer items first...

I am very happy for you, Susanne, to have acquired this figurine you wanted so much...congratulations...

wow really nice! its so pretty always been interested with schleich sealife but i only collect schleoch horses and cows but what can i say horses are my life as you can see in my proflie pic its a picture i took at the showjumping at the ekka

The sealife has so far also been the last ones for me to collect ( Except for the coral reef-fish).
I thought they were a little strange, lying there on their bellies.
But this forum opened my eyes to them, I saw how some can make dioramas where it looks like they swim, and it makes them look so beautyful

Hmmm, right now I can`t find those pictures from Sergey`s shelves . Perhaps if Sergey sees this he can make a link ?

A few years ago, in 2006, I've been to the Oceanarium Lisbon, a really great place to visit, so I've seen for the first time in my life, a manta ray.

But I was very surprised also, to find the Schleich Beluga and and the Hammehead Shark in the giftshops, altough they have been retired at this time since 2003...

I don't know, if they still on Sale there, but I don't think so...
