The colours are great, but there's something wong about it's legs and i'm afraid his teeth may be a little strange.

Looks a little odd, the safari one is good, but it's too big!

This is clearly a not finished figures. Maybe a victime of such a long list of releases! Anyway I'm very happy seeing a figure that is not usual, not from African fauna and that was expected for a lot of members in this forum. I hope it would be better than it looks in this picture because I need a red panda and I still haven't found the Safari! :) Thanks for posting! :)

I need a Red panda too, because it's one of my favourite animals!

This one actually looks too similar to Safari's. The only difference I see is Collecta's has it's mouth slightly open and Safari's had a black tip on the tail

Hmm, I am not sure I agree, - the Safari panda is nicer, more detailed, better legs/paws

After all, if you make a model that is just "standing there", there is not much else to do than to let him...just stand there

I need more pics to really have an idea about this one

But I agree with Roger, it's already good to see unusual species on the market

I don't really like it, even if it's a Red panda Honestly, after seing all those great models I was hoping for something better...
But I still need this animal in my collection, I'll see which one I'll buy.

...I think the same. For my sorry I very surpresed about this poor model my lovely Collecta and very disappointed...

very poor model.safari is still the best.i dont think they can make any natural than it.but luckily money is saved for other figurines.may be schleich can make it cuter with baby face for childrens to buy

My favorite red panda is Colorata, great shape and size. This one has not good body shape Maybe someone hurry to much while sculpting. Other CollectA models for 2012 are good and some are really great, so this small red panda had to be just an accident But colors are indeed very nice :)

no! the colouration of the safari red panda (face) is slightly wrong, the whole appears more to be a fox than a firefox
So there are at least two ways of making it look more natural. another fact is that a red panda doesn't walk like a maned wolf or a cheetah! and his eyes are a little bigger than a pinhead,....

I am with most of the people replying to this I am a little disappointed but hey collectA still has other figures coming out that are good.

It just another common pose to me!

too much of toyishness in a figure will affect its natural looking.and too much details with accuracy i think there will be no figurines in the market too .even in the future.80%naturalistic+20%toyishness will be enough for me and new comers.i will never imagine a red panda to be accurate or see major flaws in it since it is a small and cute mammals which wins every heart.if i lok serious flaws in it then i will start searching flaws in every figurine and neglect it and still wait for the future pandas which i think will destroy my collecting charm and happiness and mostly my satisfaction.every figurine has flaws.every figurine is important to atleast someone.


the safari panda may have flaaws but it may be too scientific to comment on its walking but surely i decided to buy it on first sight.but this panda something is missing

I think to, that we must see this model in real first...
My first opinion, was actually, that is looked very much like a real red panda, the way its head is shaped for example.
He looks a little bit chubby overall, but ok, these animals have a thick furr in the winter, so that could be possible to.
Lets wait and see...
