flocks of Geese Empty
PostSubject: flocks of Geese    flocks of Geese EmptyMon Nov 21, 2011 3:47 pm

Around here we've been having huge flocks of geese, Canadian geese and greylags and some others which I couldn't see clearly enough to identify. But there were at least a thousand went over this morning - they're not flying south but north, east and west. The big flock I saw this morning were flying north and I've just seen another flying west, what's going on? scratch they're very unsettled, I've never seen so many geese before.
What's it like in your country, are you seeing lots of geese too?

I have not seen any geese at all this year !

The weather is strange here.
Normally we have lots of storms and rain, and very clear air in November.
This year the mist is mostly lying as a pillow, there is almost no wind and we have had so little rain that it may be the dryest November ever measured .

It could sound as if the geese are reacting to something unusual, - perhaps the weather scratch Shocked

hmm, it's very mild here so the geese could be confused. This time last year we had snow and it was minus 18 affraid

Where I live we still have our geese although with the temperatures not being too extreme they don't really go anywhere. At a community college I went to a few years back we had a pond behind the campus (it was only one building) and it was the home to many families of canadian geese. I know this time of year our geese are getting ready to mate and lay eggs. Soon there will be little goslings wandering around in a few months which is always a sight to see. I love you

That must be lovely to see, seeing Canadian Geese always reminds me of the film "fly away home".
I'd love to see photos of the goslings when they're hatched bounce
All the geese have gone now, this was a few weeks ago, they just suddenly stopped coming - so either they decided to fly south or went back to where they came from because it's still so mild! Laughing

Here you see only ravens, crows, sparrows and common blackbirds. Sad
