Or unfortunately. Nowadays it's rather rarely used. But I've seen it quite often in some older books, especially literature and poetry. _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

i have no regrets that it's a real word. I use it all the time. but then, i also say "gadzooks" and "zounds", expletives also from Renaissance, although, alas, many people think i'm quoting Batman 1960 TV show. _________________ carolynn

Yes, alas isn't often used anyone. Greensleeves, my sister used to play it on the piano and I'd sing. _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| I play WOW(even the name is an abreviation) and I'm used to all these kinds of words. But there are also many ingame ones: q = quest ach = achievment LFR = looking for raid LFD = looking for dungeon pvp = player vs player pve = player vs enverionment LFM = looking for more WTS = want to sell ILV = item level MS = main spec OS = off spec or the special emotes /sleep /rude /yell /whisper etc |
