I'm vacationing at my parents', so today I made the compulsory run to Toy Hell (you know the place)...
Shock and disbelief, they had some of the 2012s! Not many, mind you - some foals and the female alpaca - but they also had the eagle nest! cheers I also bought some geese and the mallard drake, because I've been itching to paint some waterfowl lately. The white Collecta duck may well be the last of its kind in Norway... (It's so typical - just when Collecta started making good models, the shops decided to carry exclusively Schleich.)

The book they're standing on is another "present" (from myself, of course) - The complete book of British birds, which I came across in my favorite secondhand bookshop. It's beautifully illustrated, and there's so much cool waterfowl! I'm already contemplating turning one of my Safari ibises into a curlew. As for the ducks and geese... mallards and greylags are well and good, but there are so many other species to choose from!
