Nice pig! The dark spot on it's face is the shadow of it's ear?

Nice work, Willy. Aren't there two variants of this, based on dull vs. shiny finish, and maybe with some color variation? This one looks different than the one that I have, with respect to the above-referenced parameters. I know I have seen this with the 13224 Laying Pig.

Thanks people!

The dark spot is the shadow of the ear indeed Zwartvoet!

Indeed another one to take of the list Amy, although i have to look out for other versions, as Phil mentioned.
This a the version with darker shades on his body, and there is a version with complete pink colouration, without those shades.
All of the older Schleich pigs have those colour-variations.
But mainly, because they were produced in different countries again.
I think, this is the oldest version, and it is made in Germany.

Thanks for verifying that, Willy. There are indeed many variants of the pig figures; the piglet (ferkel) figures have many.

Yes indeed!
And mostly, you stumble on them by accident, when you have them in your hands, next to eachother, like i had today with some Schleichs that came in.
I have to put the pictures here now.

Rosa is pink in German...
I think the first version had pink hooves and snout, this version with some darker shades on it came later.
But like said before, the most of those older pig and piglet-models have at least 2 versions, mostly 3.
See on the collectors-sites for that.

PostSubject: Willy's Schleich additions   Wed Sep 15, 2010 3:53 am

Because i had to go to the city, i had to opportunity to buy some Schleich items in the sale today.

First i was shocked that one of the biggest ware-houses around here, still didn't have any of the 2010 items! Shocked

When i went to the toy-shop that sells Schleich too(i had to go there because i had to look for some sets for Torben), they had as i knew already, but just limited.
One of the guys of the shop told me, that the whole-sales dealer from Belgium, allowed only to buy from them in the future, and not from Schleich directly anymore, and that their list of items was very limited, missing very much of the complete Schleich lines... Shocked
They told me that, because i was looking for the Schleich plane... scratch
And they will never have it as it seems, and same for many other items... Crying or Very sad
So this means internet shopping for me when it comes to new Schleich.

But for that, they had some other Schleich items with a nice discount, so i bought the next two items:

14558 Schleich Southern Right Whale with tag of course...
The scale is about 1:85

And in the collection

30653 Schleich Spruce-tree small, boxed

Out of the box

And in the collection

They had the bigger spruce-tree in offer too, so i will get this soon too, and then i only miss the newest beech and the hedges to complete the Schleich tree collection.

Thanks guys!
Yes, the right whale is a great model, and a shame that they didn't made it in the bigger series(1:32...) Laughing
I think, 6,50 euro is very cheap for a model like that... Very Happy

The spruce-tree, or fir if you want, was 10,50 euro, which is cheap too i think, because they are out of the collection already, and will be harder to get in the near future.
So yes, i will get the bigger spruce, the hedge and the beech soon, to complete my Schleich trees... cheers

Mon ami, the warehouse still hasn't any of the 2010 Schleich stuff, i e-mailded them about that last night, because the new stuff for 2011 is almost coming, thats not normal i think! Rolling Eyes
The toyshop will have Schleich, but only what the whole-sales company will offer them, and that is very limited.
But buying them in the internet is cheaper anyway... Very Happy

yes, this right whale is too small and it's a shame because this model is younger than the Gray whale and some of the "false 1:32" sea animals.

I still don't understand why Schleich still call this line "1:32" since they are not and this false information will not enhance the models either confused

Yes, to bad my friend, but it is a very nice and accurate model anyway! Cool
On those barnicles on the body you can recognize the southern species of the right whale by the way.
The scale is about 1:85 actually in this case, but ok, it was not in the so called 1:32 series.
On my website, i try to give the correct scale on animals, as i messure them up, and compare that with the real animal. Idea

Today i had a vey big Schleich lot coming in, 31 pieces!
But as time runs already on me again, i will put them on here when i am home tonight from work.
Many retired models, from several series, like the corall-fish, farm, birds of prey and wild-life... cheers

Wow, I love the buffalo! Seeing all your massive (and great!) shoppings makes me want to get some new Schleich items too. Wehee I earned 30 euros today by selling a couple of old school books to a friend, I'll definitely keep them safe for some Schleich-shopping.

Thank you al very much my friends! Very Happy

Well, there is no Christmas here, just buying stuff, haha.
I do live alone, so i can do with my money what i want, next to paying my bills... Crying or Very sad
I was just looking out for some Schleich to get, and then i saw that this guy had more of the good stuff...

The Cape-Buffalo is a double now, slightly damaged on the horns, so for the trade, so PM me if you have something for me... Rolling Eyes

Because they were all seperate items, they were not always cheap... Laughing
On average i paid 9,11 euro for every item, and the cheapest were the Farm-Hedges for 3,02 euro.
The most expensive was the female gorilla with 14,33 euro, which is still a good price i think...
But the days that i was bidding for all of these items, it was hard, and i had some hard competitors! affraid
And this made the prices go up more as they should be normally.

But anyway, i have some items, that i didn't even had before, or not in this condition, so i am very pleased with them!
Ok, i know where to hunt for first now after these tropical years, so that makes it more easy for me, but still expensive... Laughing

Personaly i am the most happy with the female gorilla, and the 4 calfs...

And i hope i have some doubles coming in for you Christophe... Laughing

Thank you Anna, Roger and Phil! Very Happy

Normally i spend about the same amount of money on new items every month, but still variable, it can be 100 euro, but sometimes 500 euro, it is depending on what i found, and how rare an item is.
Like i said in another tread before, my complete collection growns with between 30-200 items every month. Laughing Rolling Eyes Cool

Of course i don't really think about the money Roger, only when i am bidding, to keep the price low as possible, and when i pay the items, after that i quickly forget about the prices i paid, as i enjoy the fact, that i have them in my hands. cheers

This time nothing very special, the 14162 Wildebeast or Blue Gnu, in the German version, i had the China version already.

Made in Germany

Made in China and Germany, slightly different, the basic colour of the German model is darker, and the painting on the models is somewhat different, but enough for me to keep both versions... Laughing

PostSubject: The Third and Fourth Schleich Lot for September 2010 came in...   Thu Sep 30, 2010 3:35 am

As first i had the 12508 Schleich Classics English Bulldog in the brown version in yesterday.

And today i had a bigger lot in, in which were some doubles, and most of them were more played with then i hoped.
But all together i had some retired Schleich items to add to the collection.
I offered the doubles to my friend Christophe first, so he has the first pic.
What is left goes in the trade section.
The ones i show seperatly will go in the collections, the other ones are for the trade anyway.

Part 1

Part 2

14098 White Bengal Tigress, which is missing the tip of the tail sadly enough, but it will be in the collection, untill i find another one

14187 Bengal tigercub standing, version 1 with the thinner stripes

14351 White Bengal Tiger standing, completed the family again

I had the 5th Cheetah again too, but in a horrible state, but i will use that for a re-paint

14128 Grizzlybear standing, which completed the whole bear-family again
But he is to worn off in my eyes, so i will hunt for another one... Laughing , but untill then, he will stay in the collection

16701 Golden Eagle, so now i need the common bussard only, to complete the birds of prey again... cheers

Congratulations on them Willy, lovely additions sunny Shame about the white tiger, is it quite a rare one? The Golden Eagle is really nice.

Thank you all again!
Yes, the older white tiger is quit rare, as it was made for one year only actually.
I didn't watch the picture of the seller very well i guess, so it was my own mistake.
The grizzly has to many rubs to, so it will be replaced in time too.
But for now i completed all of the Schleich bears again, so i am happy so far... Laughing
The golden eagle was one of the last birds of prey i needed, only one left to go for now. Very Happy
