Very hard, but I´ll get !!!

One of the figures that have impressed me most this year is the fighter elephant from Schleich. Very well done. His stance, details on the texture of skin wrinkling. (similar to Safari Ltd elephants WW)...his SIZE : finally a real size elephant from Schleich near human figures but...

I like wild animals and need to release this beast of his weapons and ornaments.

I have begun the difficult task of returning to freedom (still unfinished ).

First of all, congratulations for your new addition! Then also congratulations for being brave enough try to turn it in a figure for animal collectors and not for warrior collectors! Good luck and I'm really eager to see the final result! :) to

Good luck on your project! Looks tedious! It's funny, but the more I look at that elephant, is it a "large" eared Asian or a "small" eared African? Kind of looks like a hybrid...
Even the back is in between an African's sway back and an Asian's rounded back.
I also agree that I wish Schleich would have made their 2012 elephants similar in size to the Figter elephant!

This is really a wonderful figure Miguel and I think it'll be even more wonderful after your changes.

Yes, I think is an asian elephant with large eared ...majestic male in the plenitude of life.
Blends perfectly with WW Safari ltd asian elephant

maybe just carve them out altogether and then fill in the holes with sculpy?

The hardest part will give to repain him...Ana, Harriet or Joan would be very good and talented, as demonstrated. Is a difficult work of restoration .

Carolyn can be a good idea to fill the holes with sculpy but...wath material it is ?. Here in Spain I don`t know the equivalent , it`s a plastic or epoxy ?

Maybe you can use that kind of epoxy clay that I use to fill holes when a copy of my figurines has bubbles.

the shop is in Barcelona, it's expesive, and the're is enough clay to make a whole figure, so if you want I can send you a little bit by mail in a box. PM me if you want :)

Great photos, I cant wait to see the finished model. I think we should send that photo to Schleich and tell them that making a model with ornaments that are not removeable is really silly!!

i expect they would have to made two versions of the model, one with ornaments and one without. it would be probably make the set prohibitively expensive to make it with removable gear: all those little straps! they can make removable gear for horses because more people buy horses.
it would be great if they would release a "clean" version of this elephant!
