PostSubject: Papo The Wild Animal Box   Mon Jan 23, 2012 2:08 am

So I put this all together and then realized I hadn't started a new topic so here I am starting all over again! Razz Rolling Eyes

When I last posted about the Box of 4 horses by Papo that I had found (and they were retired horses) I gave a link to the online store where I found them. Roger actually went there and pointed out that the Wild Animal Box had some retireds in it as well. So I went back to that store and bought it.
So here it is:

The nice thing about Papo's boxed figures is that they aren't tied in with wire so they can be easily removed to show everyone.

That baby better be holding on tight! Looks like one jump and he could fall off.

This is definitely a "Don't mess with me" face...

This guy looks happy to be out of the box. That and he really enjoyed the chocolate he got into... Shocked

I asked but he won't share the joke Crocobert told him... Suspect

A "Stay out my way" look.

The tiger cub from the box has more white on it than the ones I bought online.

I can see why they decided to retire some of these figures... Wink

Laughing Laughing Laughing
Ahahah, the crocodile is laughing! :)
Yes, Sue! The white rhino, crocodile and camel are already retired. And the chimp is not but they are surely descontinuing him very soon. monkey
But this is like the other old figures from other brands, they have a story to tell, they have a place in this hobby. :)
Papo started only in 2004 with animal figures and we see how much the brand improved. The crocodile is an excelent sign of it. The new one is dramatically perfect and the old one has a toyish looking like many other crocs. Not me, of course Embarassed Wink
The bactrian camel is the number 1 of wild series, what would mean that the French brand started everything with a camel. It looks French people loves them a lot. monkey
I confess that even I have the new one, I love the old one a lot. :)
Not the same with the rhino, my favourite rhino of ever is the new Papo black rhino but I really don't like the old one but I have it. One of the first Papo in my collection.
Kristie sent me the little tiger and he is lovely and the gorilla is in line with most recent releases. :)
Congratulations, thanks for the pictures and the funny way you are showing them. Laughing

They are wonderful, Sue cheers

I love the retired Papos, they have so much caracter, your stories to each one is priceless Laughing

I suppose it is no secret that I look just as much ( or more ? ) at character than accuracy and scale Embarassed
For instance somebody just sent me the dromedary from the US, and he is GORGEOUS !!!
The camel has it all, he is one of the best animal models that Papo ever made, IMHO Very Happy

CONGRATULATIONS with getting this collection of lovely models, - all in one go and in a rare and nice box, too bounce cheers
