| After looking through the photos in this thread I'm even more sure that I don't want to collect horses - because THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY TOO MANY BEAUTIFUL ONES!!! (Katty's Butterbean is my favorite ) But, even though I don't collect horses, I have one: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]STARLITE from Rainbow Brite by Schleich, 1983. It's not a real horse so this doesn't count as collecting horses, right? _________________ my website: Noora's Ark (last updated 13th of September 2013)

STARLITE from Rainbow Brite by Schleich, 1983. It's not a real horse so this doesn't count as collecting horses, right? <3<3<3<3<3 Lovely! I have always been like "Thank god I'm not interested in collecting horses", but lately I've been spending time looking longingly at the Schleich horses in toy stores.... They're so beautiful ... and expensive. I have 2 Schleich horses already (got them from a flea market), but I'd really like to choose one I like best and buy it as new. But that would be a though choice since I like so many of them. : ) _________________ Krista || zombiebambiraptor.blogspot.com

| Brace yourselves for some mightily horrible photos. Turns out it isn't easy trying to photograph a mixture of stark white and dark models against an orange background in a pitch black room with a poor camera and a shaky hand - who knew? Below are the results of doing just that (well, that and some awful photoediting in attempt to pick up at least a little detail on the expense of colour integrity and all taste. The failing focus even that could not aid me with). These are my current horses, excluding everything that's currently visiting me as a commission, lying in pieces in the garage or stored away for later dismemberment. Shown are mainly resins, I know, but there are some models of respectable toy origins in there (see if you can spot them!). Aaand.. they're all unfinished. Except one. Which is finished, but so poorly that you won't be able to spot him - he's virtually indistinguishable from all the half-painted amputees in there. Onward: Upper shelf. The objects on the backs of the two large models standing on the right are the face of one and the leg of the other. I told you there'd be amputees. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Lower shelf - accommodating one more fresh bilateral amputee (lying down on shelf in the middle, quite pink), courtesy of my inability to concentrate on not bumping into walls whilst photographing. Oh well, gives me something to do tonight. Repairs, repairs... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Thank you all for the comments! Mangalarga, you have a very nice collection yourself - and significantly more intact, from what I can tell. The CollectA Shire mare appears a lot larger than I've thought. And, are those Maggie Bennett micros I spy? |

Thanks! I hope it won't stay so intact for much longer - I wanna start butchering customizing eventually! And I'm considering selling those bigger Breyers - I think I'll limit my collection to smaller than Classic models, due to limited space and prices of bigger models. Those micros are by Mirliton SG, a company producing gaming miniatures. They were sculpted by Sandra Garrity. But I want to but a few Bennett's micros one day too! _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

| Good luck in your customising endeavours - it's a fun pursuit, and prospectly very educational. Thank you for the info on the pewters - I looked them up, and they seem quite nice. There's a surprising amount of fairly decent horse models to be found in the world of non-model horse pewtercasts, I notice.

I agree - I have a unicorn and a pegasus, which I want to transform into a Miniature Horse (similar conformation). I want to buy another unicorn (like the one I already have) to customize it into a mustang, and a hairy alicorn (winged unicorn) which, after a few minor changes, should make great Tinker/Gypsy Vanner I often browse those pewter models in search of such gems _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |
