and with his mate

something I noticed, my lioness has an "A" after Jeol, does anyone know what this means? I guess mine is a newer version as the material is different as well as the colour

Excelent pictures, Harriet! flower Jeol figures have a special artistic touch, I guess! And the difference in size donnot really hurt! Very Happy It is a shame that some brands are really hard to find! Thanks a lot for having all this work to show them in comparison ! cheers

Wow Harriett, The Joel lions look so much more realistic than the Britains. I love them

Did I miss the thread where they talk about the history of this company?

I would love to know more about Joel.

Thanks from me too for the comparison photos with the Britains!

A lovely gift from two lovely ladies to a lovely girl. Wink

The size difference isn't too bad, I'll keep an eye out for the Lions for you.

Thank you Sue flower The Lioness used to be at my grandparents house, in a box of plastic animals, when I was about three years old and when I visited I used to play with them. I liked the lioness so much that I was allowed to keep it and took it with me when we moved to Canada.

No doubt the Jeol lioness is very nice and rare figure but -moreover- Harriet´s lioness is figure with the long history! And very experienced traveler... Laughing

I am in agreement with you Willy. They are very realistic and I also would love to own some. I searched Ebay for Jeol and came up with "Jello" Shocked HA! That is not helpful at all.
If I find doublets Willy I'll share with you Wink cheers

Yes ANY Jeol figures would be great!

Did they only make the few that Sue and Lesley shared photos of?
Was there a catalogue? I guess not if there weren't very many made...

I sure appreciate it when members share photos. Thanks! sunny

My Jeol lion only has the brand name and doesn't have Hong Kong or anything else written on it, is this normal?

If I can judge from the waterbucks, the first edition has "Jeol Made in Hong Kong" on the belly, the second edition "Jeol" only.

Could this mean, they are now made in China?

AFAIK all Jeol animal figures were made in HK but only the first load of figures is marked "Made in Hong Kong", newer ones are marked "(C) Jeol" (or Jeol A, Jeol B) only (without Hong Kong). Unfortunately I can not decode the difference between "Jeol A" and "Jeol B"...  scratch
