| I've always dreamed of owning this model  , but the other day while browsing German eBay I spotted one and I thought I'm going to try and get it - I've never bought from eBay.de before so I asked for the help of Andreas for translation and Sue and Lesley for advice on the model. Thanks to you three I now actually own a Lineol Caribou  it's in beautiful condition, the antlers are still intact. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

And the way he holds his head ! And..and ... He is PERFECT  And very old, too, isn`t he ? | Big congrats for this model Harriet! Finally you've got one! He is old, about the 1940-1950's i think...  Normally , the legs are brittle, and they have cracks, you can't help that, as the old material starts to work through time. Having complete antlers is an important thing with models like this. I don't think he is ment to be a caribu, as the sculptor probably never saw one before, and the German company made mostly European animals, so it has to be a reindeer i guess...

Thanks for the dates Willy, that's nice to know. The model has a few cracks but no flaking paintwork, as Susanne said someone must have taken a lot of care of this model, the legs are so delicate and of course the antlers, it's amazing it's lasted these years!
