PostSubject: Schleich Lion   Mon Mar 05, 2012 2:42 am

This guy has been on my wishlist for quite sometime and I found him today at Tractor Supply!

I know he's not the "best" lion, but I think he's the most handsome by far. :)

I agree with you (I have 2 of them Cool), but the downside for me is the mane ... The painting is weak. And Schleich should make a majestic lion in a position where your head would be looking forward and not sideways. It is my humble opinion.

Thank you Ken, Gabe, Phil, Willy, and Andre. Very Happy

Andre, both previous lions by Schleich I think were facing forward with a more majestic pose. However I think the current one has the most majestic look of all! :)

The biggest problem of this lion is not the chin but that it miss Schleich written in his belly!
By far my favourite Kristie's lion! Laughing

Great Lion Kristie! Both the Schleich and the Mojo Fun Lions are lovely.

Even though I've been branching out to CollectA and Mojo Fun, I still adore Schleich. Even when they aren't as real or dynamic as other figures, there is an elegance and balance that (many or most) Schleich figures have that make them sooo compelling. I love Schleich to the end.

Thank you everyone!

Scott, I agree. I think I will always love Schleich best, but my collection has really been branching out with Papo, CollectA, Mojo, etc. These brands seem to have more realism with their figures, especially with wildlife. But the core of my collection will likely always be Schleich.

Congratulation Kristie, this lion and especially your pic is beautiful Very Happy

I guess the main problem with this lion is not this lion. The main problems are the magnificent PAPO lionesses Wink
This lion is too small for them Laughing

Kristie, I'm in the same position: the core of my collection will always be Schleich. I've loved many of the other figures I've collected (especially by Collecta, Mojo Fun, and Papo). I used to regard Safari with disdain and now I realize I was being snooty and silly: the howling Grey Wolf is great, and I love the Reindeer and the Charolais Cow and Calf. But I always end up with more Schleich on my shelves. There are so many great ones.

I used to think that Lionesses were larger than Lions, but I looked that up recently (after seeing your comment here) and I was wrong. Males are bigger.

You are exactly Christophe that the Papo Lioness is the best. Here are the two (Schleich Lion and Papo Lioness) lined up next to each other.

It's not a horrible difference, but she is bigger. I like having them both.
