PostSubject: some wiener dogs   Wed 7 Mar 2012 - 19:11

I received my first batch of CollectA animals today. And I am really impressed. (Thank you T.G.F. toys!) The Red Deer Stag and the Octopus are particularly great. (I'm going to compare the Ostrich with the Schleich by the light of day tomorrow.)

In the meantime though, I have a tiny crush on this Dachshund. It looks exactly like my brother's, except his is real, mine is plastic. I like how small it is (the plastic one). About the length of my pinky finger. Perfect.

The same day, my girlfriend finds this large clay figure at a thrift shop. Dachshunds for all!

Congrats! I need that little CollectA Dachunds! I love the eyebrows! I call them "pumpkin eyebrows".

This is my Dachsund, Emma. She somewhat resembles a Chihuahua at times!

Very nice figures, I don't know why none of the collectA distributors in Portugal has ordered it. These dogs are very popular here! :)
Kristie, fantastic photo of Emma! What a Face

Beautiful :)

If anyone in the UK knows where I can get some of these, please let me know. My boss has three Dachshunds and I'd love to paint some models like their dogs.

Rio, Are you looking for the tiny plastic models, or the large clay model (like the one my girlfriend found at the triftstore? (I'm only asking because I think the clarification might help other people--in the UK--be able to help you better.)

best,
scott

I know this is a Collecta thread, but in the spirit of dachshunds, I got this Schleich model recently as well. It is only slightly bigger than the black Collecta dachshund I posted about at the very beginning of this thread: it is just about the length of my pinky finger. I never saw a picture of this short-haired schleich dachshund (16308) that did justice to how good the figure is and so I was extremely, but pleasantly, surprised when I received it. I hope this picture captures a little better what a lovely figure it is. (Too bad it is retired! I was very happy to get it for US$15.)
