PostSubject: Siobhan's Collection   Thu Aug 26, 2010 8:12 pm

Hey guys. Enormous thanks to Rio for helping out with Photobucket, now I made myself an account there and should FINALLY be able to display my photos in here. And thanks to everyone else too, for giving advice and being patient with me the computer idiot :)
Here's my collection at last. It's not nearly as big and impressive as most that I've seen here since I collect mostly horses and other stuff related to them, but of course I stray sometimes. I couldn't fit all the 75 horses into one photo so I grouped them into Discontinued and Available.

Here's the Discontinued fellas first. My -92 Arabian mare and foal are missing from the photo because I took it many weeks ago and the beauties only arrived last week.

And here's the horses that are still available in shops. I had a hard time squeezing them into the photo, hope you can still make something out of it...

I realy want to see the photos!
I also have problems:
I can only post pics using Collector's Quest, then bringing them to the forum!
I post the pic there,''open link'' it and copy paste the http. here.

If I try to open the photo from ''My documents'',open link with Internet explorer and copy-paste the http. here,I only get red x's!

I can't see anything Suspect

Please don't use the "Host an image" button...

Load your pics on a site like Photobucket, then past the "direct link" under the pic and use the "Image" button here Wink

I didn't use Host an image. I have absolutely no idea what happened... But I'll try to figure it out as soon as I have time for it. Now that I'm not on my own computer I can't see the pics either, not even red X's. Thanks all for being so helpful :)

You can use this site to upload your images too [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] the box in the middle press "Browse" to get your picture and press "Hochladen", you then come to another page which has several boxes, pick the one next to this writing "BB-Code in Originalgröße:" then copy the address in the box and paste it into your thread/post.

I made this step by step guide for a model horse site that I go on, perhaps it will be of some use ? If not, Torben, feel free to delete this post Wink

I apologise for imposing.

So, you've taken your pictures on your camera. Now you need to get the card out of the camera and put it into the computer.

When you do that, a box might pop up asking you if you want to view the files. If it does, look through the list until you see Open folder to view files. Click once on the folder and then click OK. It might be called something different on your pc but on mine, my card is Removable Disk G.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Once you've clicked ok, it'll bring up a larger box. Like so.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Look for the picture you want, and find it's name.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I do it this way because it's easier to find when you want to upload the picture. You can look at all the pictures on photo bucket but the images tend to be smaller and can be harder to find the one you want.

Now go to photobucket . com. If you already have an account, just log in. If not, you'll have to make an account which is really simple. Just pick a username, a password and write in all the details that they need. Which is usually your email address, age (I think) and pick the free account.

After you've done this, go to All albums and in the far right, you'll see a blue box saying create new album.
Click this.

A box will then come up and ask you to name the album. Once you've named it, click add album.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

This will then take you to your new album page.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

To the right, you will see a long green box that says Upload Images and Video. Under this is a click able link for More Options. Click on more options.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

This will then bring up a box with different size options for you. Just pick the size that you would like and click save.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Below I have uploaded the same image but in 3 different sizes so you can get an idea of which you'd like best. I usually choose Large. For the sake of slow loading computers and quicker loading time, the biggest size image I will show will be Large.

Small (160 x 120)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Medium (320 x 240)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Large (640 x 480)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Click on the green Upload Images and Video and another box will come up.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

To find your photos on the camera card, click My Computer and find your card. Mine is called Removable Disk G so that is what I look for.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Click on it and it should bring up all the photos on your camera card. I have mine in a list format to make it easier to search for the name of my photo.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I only want to upload one photo so I just click on it once and then click open. If you want to upload more than one photo at a time, you have to hold down Ctrl whilst clicking on the photo names.

You will then see the photo being uploaded.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Just wait for it to finish, it shouldn't take long if just the one photo is being uploaded, and then it may take you to a second page. Some people have this disabled but I have mine on so I can make sure that I did upload the right photo.
You can then add a new name for the photo and a description. If you don't want to, just click the blue button at the bottom that says save.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

This will then take you back to your album page where you should see the image you just uploaded.
Put your cursor over the picture until these options come up.
To put an image on a forum, you want the link at the bottom, the IMG code.
Click on the box with the code in, with your left mouse button to highlight it. Then click it with your right mouse button and click Copy.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

You will then have the code to use.
Just simply go to where you want to show it, on FE for instance, and click with your right mouse button and click paste.
It should then look like this.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Click submit and that's it ! Your image should now be on the forum for all to see Very Happy

One more photo. Here's my latest additions, the -92 Arabian mare and foal. They arrived last week and I can't tell you how happy I was to have them; I'd hunted for these two for ages! The mare is very beautiful in her own way, and isn't the little foal the cutest?

Thanks everyone for commenting my collection :)
Horses and stuff related to them such as people and accessories are my priority, but sometimes I like to buy something else too. Donkeys and zebras are related to horses of course, so I like to have them in my collection. The goats and lambs go nicely with the farm. The Bayala series is very beautiful but I don't think I'm going to collect them any more because I can't spend all my money and like I said, horses are my priority. Besides I don't have that much room Very Happy
I just hope that the May and September products would be available here in Finland where absolutely EVERYTHING arrives later than in Central Europe. I still haven't found the human figurines of this May in any shops (actually, I've had to buy all my human figurines in an online shop), and it's still too early for the September products. I would like to get the four Farm Life human figurines, the pony riding set and the pony carriage :)
By the way, does anyone else than me think that it's kind of funny that all the horse stuff belongs to Farm Life with the cows, goats, sheep etc.? I mean, you wouldn't expect to see an Arabian or a Lipizzaner or most of the other Schleich horses on a farm, would you? Or maybe it's just me paying too much attention to tiny little things :)

I think the Schleich horses should be in a section on their own too. If the dogs are shown in their own section why shouldn't horses? Very Happy

Have you noticed that alot of the newest horses have shoes on too?
To have them with the Farm Livestock is a little strange but maybe they weren't thinking 30 years down the road and only had work horse breeds and regular riding horses originally. Of course if you were to just have the horses and barn/buildings it would be known over here as a Boarding Stable where you could monthly rent a stall for your horse and ride in an indoor arena when there is snow outside. I would like to see Schleich come up with several barns with different style pens that would set up inside them as if you and the family went to the Fair and saw all the livestock - then all the dogs, cats, farm animals - rabbits, pigs, sheep etc. could be set up like a show! I think I'll put this in the other Thread about what I'd like to see in 2011. ~S

Hello people. I had an absolutely wonderful day today, and I'll tell you why. I went to one of my favourite bookstores, which also sells Schleich products, to see if they might have that white fence. Well they didn't but... they had the pony carriage and pony riding set!!! Can you imagine my amazement, when just yesterday I complained how late everything arrives in Finland? Of course I had to buy them and take photos of them and display them here for you to comment on :)

Here's the pony carriage in its package. The poor pony is harnessed a bit... weirdly, don't you think? Very Happy
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

It looks all right on the picture though. Still, if you harnessed a pony this way in real life, with nothing around the pony's neck to keep the harness from slipping, you would end up in a situation similar to the first picture Very Happy
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Now the pony is out of the package and harnessed as it should be. The pony's colour is much lighter than in the pictures but actually I like this colour better, very cute :)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Maybe the harness was supposed to be placed between those two bumps on the pole, but that's not possible now that the harness is on its right place...
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Here's the driver. Notice the seatbelt; safety first :)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

This is a detail that I liked, the "floor" or whatever it's called I mean. Looks very realistic and very nicely detailed.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I had to take a picture of the carriage pony (to whom I'm trying to figure out a nice and fitting name) with little Mio because they look so sweet together :)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Now to the next item, the riding set.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I like the rider's clothes, very up-to-date. The girl should work on her posture though, but that makes her look even more realistic since not all riders sit perfectly!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Another detail that I liked: the handle on the saddle which the little riders can hold on to if they get scared Very Happy BTW the saddle is tiny, even the Shetland Ponies can wear it.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

And here's Black Pearl wearing the headstall and the blanket. I love the colours!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

All in all I'm very very happy with my purchases! I've waited for ages for Schleich to realize that the ponies need their riding set too, and now they did. I never expected the pony carriage but it was an excellent addition to Schleich's product range :) And yes, I'm a very passionate pony-person, maybe because I'm so short so it feels better to ride a small pony than a big horse.
