Very nice collection of retired Schleichs you have already Holly!
IMHO the white billy-goat and the brown calf are the hardest to get, and quit rare too!

Thanks Willy. As I've said before somewhere, I don't collect the retired, but I love having the ones I do have. That's nice to know I have a couple of rare ones! I thought the black cat was quite rare too, but don't know for sure myself.

Yes, you don't see the black cat that much too, but in rarity, it is a category under the other ones.
I would say:
Category one:
Pinto, brown pelican, black and white beagle, black poodle, grey and black schnauzer, some of the Artist horses, WWF models.
Category two:
Shirehorse manes up, white billygoat, white poodle, other old beagle, boxers brown and brown/white, standing calfs, gorilla female, New Foundlander, some of the Artist horses.

The other categories would be too big to put here, and i don't included the rare human figurines.

Beautiful figurines, Harriet. The original St. Bernard farmdog variant and original farmcat variant are in fantastic condition - most impressive. They are fairly easy figures to find on eBay.de, but you will not see all that many in such a pristine state. If memory serves, there are at least 3-4 variants of the Bernard and at least 2 variants of the cat.

Willy's categories are quite good, except that maybe the original beagle is now in a class by itself. Of the others, I'd say the the WWF mounted series of six are incredibly difficult to find. I've been advised that even around where I live, in a remote "mountain" area, it is possible to find old rare Schleich at flea markets and thrift shops. Maybe these would be the best places to look for something like the WWF figures. One of the online stores on eBay.de has had the orangutan figure for ages, but it is missing a nameplate, so no one wants it.

Thanks Phil. Interesting what you say. It's nice to have a few rare ones, as I said before. These models I've had since I was little, they are in quite good condition considering how much they've been played with. Now of course, they are carefully packed away and looked after! But they are lovely models to own.

I have the Heavy horse, which I got in a trade with Steve (Stecal).

Yeah, the number of the coldblood-horse is 13244, but that doesn't matter, and i think it is not soo rare, and in category 4 maybe...,and then there are colour variations in this model too, more shades of brown...
But i forgot soo many other models as i thought afterwards, like the oldest 13103 foal, the both versions of the 13210 oldest white horse, the Iceland pony's 13249 and 13264 in both versions, and probably much more in all categories.(beluga and manatee in marine animals)

Phil could be right about this oldest black and white beagle, like i said, i saw it once in 3 years maybe, and the WWF series are the same.
I saw this WWF orang too, but i wouldn't like it either without the name-shield, specially not when i have to pay very much for it...

The Heavy Horse was just another retired item, I forgot to add a picture, I know it isn't that rare yet.
But the thoroughbred is reasonabley rare isn't it? I have it in my horse collection thread.
Thanks Phil 4 Wink

I guess I'll have to reload them again. Of course most everyone has seen them, but it's still odd.

I think the problem is you download directly on the site I guess.

I stopped downloading here ( the right button ) because ralf was unable to see the pics. Now, I download to photobucket and then paste the "direct link" code in the left button window, and there is no problem. I hope my english explanation is not too bad and that it help Wink
