PostSubject: Suffolk holiday wildlife   Suffolk holiday wildlife EmptyThu 19 Apr 2012, 20:25

Today I got back from a short holiday in Suffolk. I stayed for 3 nights at a working farm B&B, The views were beautiful - pitty my camera isn't the best (on wishlist!)

They had a great dog called Tarka, my favourite breed. He was really friendly and has made me consider getting an alsatian

I was suprised how pheasants are everywhere...I got pretty excited when I saw the first one!

Great pictures! Is alsatian the same thing as a german shepard? Very Happy

Went to RSPB Minsmere, unfortunately the weather was nasty...cold, wet and very windy and my dad was having a decent grumble so we cut the day short. But I was happy to see (just about) a snipe

Some marsh harriers :)

And maybe the most enjoyable part was seeing four female red deer very close...and a magpie!

I love this deer/picture

Thank you. Yeah I really did, it was a nice change from where I live.

Somehow I forgot my highlight of the trip...the first time I've seen a muntjac deer. I knew they were small but seeing one in the flesh...they are tiny! It was really frustrating that I couldn't get a good picture but I'll post anyway

Lovely pictures. I really like Alsatians, but you have to be careful about the breeding, they get hip dysplasia which is very bad

Looks like you had a lovely time Steve! I love the little snipe, took me a while to see him in the photo (they're so well camouflaged!).

Laughing They are aren't they. A guy in the hide pointed it out to me when I sat down, it was only about 5m away but it took me a while to find it. And you can see in the first photograph I wasn't looking at the snipe Embarassed Laughing
