PostSubject: Zebra Herd   Sun 05 Sep 2010, 10:28

I had a commission from a new friend (on the other forum LG, some of you know him, he's quite a new member there) for a reclining Zebra.
I have three zebras reclining, one of which is unpainted.  The first two had problems so I made a third and I was happy with it:

We like to see pictures here Daniel...
When your German is good as your English, i think it is no problem to go to imgbox.de, upload your pics there , and put the complete
"BB-Code in Originalgröße" here with copy and paste here.
Tip, become a member there, it is for free, and your pics will stay on the forum forever.

Good that you found out, i hope you are able to put pics here now, so we all can enjoy them!

I think you mean:"My German is same good as English", but ok, i understand very well, that it is not easy for somebody from your country with a Slavian language to speak these German languages perfect, it is the same for us here with Slavian languages.
In German you said: "Ich tue gutes Deutsch" , which would mean that you DO good German, which should be :"Ich spreche gut Deutsch" or "Ich spreche ein gutes Deutsch" (I do speak a good German, which sounds strange in English already, haha).
Main thing is that we understand eachother here, and that you try to do your best, we can't aspect more then that, isn't it?
For me, i do speak and write a lot of languages, but Slavian languages are my weakpoint.
Besides some Yugoslavian and a few words Russian, my Polish words are not excactly of the best kind, so forget them, haha, which i forgot mostly already, as i don't speak it regularly, but for that Cantonese Chinese, Indonesian and many other Asian Languages, although only partly to sometimes.
I am much better in German languages and Latin languages, which have much more in common with eachtother.
And besides that, i make a lot of typing mistakes, by typing to fast with only two fingers, and beeing tired in the night.
Afterwards, when i read my own answers or treads, i have to "re-pair" so much, haha... geek

Willy,
My German is more complicated because in my private school we have a different division of science, so I know how it a little differently, and do not know if people realize it with a different accent..... Rolling Eyes
But I think, and English, German and French are in my well-understood, at least I can communicate in French in the shop BullyLand and Schleich figurines Very Happy

As i said before, it is important that other people do understand you! Very Happy
It has nothing to do with accent, i met a Russian professor from the university of Kiev in the German and English language long time ago, and my German and English was far better then hers...
Her accent was awfull, and she didn't knew her verbs and variations of it very well.
But that was still in communistic times, so ok...
I lived as a child in Germany for 5 years, and when you learn it on the street as a child, that is the easiest and best way sometimes...
Besides that, my grand-grand-father was a German, the wife of one of my brothers is German, and i worked for over 20 years for German employers, so no wonder i speak German like Dutch.
English is a second language in the Netherlands anyway.
Here in the 1970's, i grew up with Indonesian youngsters, Indonesia was a former Dutch colony as you maybe know, so i speak their language to, even in 3 different dialects.
Further i am a martial arts specialist(later on of course) from my 8th year on, and i was going along with South-East Asians for many years, specially Chinese people from Hong Kong, so that is why i learned Cantonese Chinese and some Vietnamese to.
And how more you learn about languages, the easier it gets...
Further i worked in casino's for almost 20 years, and there are many people playing, from many countries, and i learned Turkish and some Marrocan Arabic and some Farsi from Iran/Persia.
The brother with German wife lives in Spain now for many years, and in the visits there i learned to speak Spanish, and besides that, i love Latin women, so it was neccesary for me to speak a decent Spanish, Italian is not very different from Spanish, so i can handle that to.
French is much the same to, but i must admitt, that is one of my weak points..., sadly enough i threw out that language at school when it was not neccesary anymore to follow those lessons, afterwards i regret that.
The same for Portuguese(sorry Rogerio...), it is related though to Spanish, but still so different to sometimes...aarrrg!
The most difficult languages are the real old ones, and some in Africa, although i do speak some Ghanese and Nigerian, which i picked up on the way of life...
In the casino years and on another job, i learned some Russian, but not to much, and more Yugoslavian, because i had collegues in the casino from there(when it was still one country in that time).
I don't speak any decent Scandinavian languages, but they are very similar to our language and English, so i can read most of it at least.
After so much years, i can only tell you, that i worked in all kinds of worlds, where most people never come, not even one of them, and then you pick up things, freely or just because you need it, and i travelled the world.
So after all, i can manage with languages, and i learn still quit easy(you have to be interested, that is the main thing!), and i am always willing to learn.
At last, my wife is from one of the former Dutch colonies at the Caribbean, and they do speak an own language to, which is called Papiamentu, which is a mix af several languages like Spanish, Portuguese, French Dutch and English, so i learned that language to... Laughing
As i said, you don't have to speak a language perfectly, but to make yourself understandable, that is the point! Wink

Willy, Portuguese women are wonderful and they love exotic accents so you can use your charm and talk the language you want that they will understand what you mean. Laughing Well, I'm kidding and I know you are with a very beautiful latin woman!
a Portuguese usually understand easily Spanish although Spanish people has some troubles understanding Portuguese language. Spanish people was always used with dubbing movies and series in TV while in Portugal they were legended only. I believe in France there was the same problem once their accent for foreign languages is usually terrible. Well, I'm also not good but Portuguese are in general. Very Happy
