TSC's Bullyland horses (El Santo and Don Johnson)

Got the two Bullyland horses Don Johnson and El Santo, except one old tiny knight horse they are my first Bullylands. I generally don't like this brand so I am kind of picky of the ones I choice.
 Sadly their legs got bended in the transport and I don't know how to change them without risking damaging them. Funny thing is they looks and feels like they where made by two different brands. Don Johnson have no text on his belly, not even Bullyland. On El Santo it looks like they only painted only one of the halves of his muzzle, but it looks like one on the forehead  My favorite of them have to be Don Johnson. He just looks so nice with his texture and good sculpting. His pose is rather unusual (If you ignore the Breyer horses). 
 I show them here with the Schleich (middle) old hanoverian mare. They all look so good together :) 

They're much nicer than I've thought based on their catalogue photos! No mistaking about the sculptor with these. I agree Don Johnson looks the better of them for his sharper sculpting and perhaps the texture, although I like El Santo's boxy head a lot. The pose the former is in looks to be a canter pirouette. Perhaps you knew that already.  

Are they made of that relatively pliable rubber-like plastic of other Bullyland horses, I wonder? (Do they float, for instance?) The floating, bendy Bullyland plastic responds quite well to dry heating (with a candle or heat gun applied from a distance -  see here if you're interested) and seems to require very little heat and force to bend nicely (so there's minimal need to heat the same spot for long and risk the overheated plastic bubbling, cracking or scorching), but if you want to play safe (for the plastic - and less safe for yourself), near-boiling hot water will also heat the legs enough for you to be able to bend them back to your desired position. Just remember to "set" the new pose by cooling the model in cold water afterwards.

Both are designed by Isabell Werth 
They were made exclusively for MPV, so that may be the reason that there is not written Bullyland on one of them.

I agree that generally Bullyland does not make the most fantastic horses, but it is a shame to rule them out in general, - their deer are fabulous, and they have made a lot of extremely nice dogs and wild birds, - their sheep and goats are nice too, and I adore their Inuit-series and many of the people, and look at the new European bison, and.......gasp, gasp   

I like best these horses than many other called and famous special editions! They look very nice, specially Don Johnson and they are really special editions, not only painting variations. I am sorry for repeating it often but wasn't it nicer that other special editions were also completely new sculpts? Congratulations,

 El Santo do not have a rubbery feeling but is very soft in the legs, while Don Johnson is almost like an ordinary Schleich figurine in the legs. I don't want to get them wet as their tags will be destroyed. I already know about the (near)boiling water method, and I am thinking about trying it. Then I have to take of at least one of the tags  and the fact I may just ruin the models anyway.

 "Good job TSC, for actually not looking up the real horse ", but really, it is such a sharp line with the white and the brown, and in the real horse pictures he don't seem to have as much white. 

 I know they are designed by the same person, but still they looks and feels so different. It felt as if I had three horses all form three different brands then taking these photos. 
 It says "El Santo" on El Santos belly, so I think it had been better if it at least had Don Johnsons name on his. If anybody found this model without the tag or anything else, how are they to know who made it? Not as much as a number on it as far as I can see. 

 I did not say they are a bad brand, I just don't like them that much. I just get a bad feeling looking at most of them. Badly sculpted, thick legs and weird anatomy and the rubbery feeling. But I believe that is about many of the older models. And I'm talking mostly about the horses, Susanne :) as I (try) to stay put in my decision at now only collect horses (and sometimes related equines...). There is far to many horses to collect in the world already, how should it be if I was to collect every animal I liked? Chaos, I say!  My original genial plan was even to only have the ones in Scheich scale, but it rabidly crumbled. But I'm hopefully getting some other Bullyland horses someday, as I have seen some I liked, but they are not top priority right now.

 Yes! It is very nice having special editions that is their own molds and not just repaints.

Neither of these people, I fear, are likely to have had much say in production values, such as the plastic used, etc. Again, likely you (both) know all of this already, but as a fellow sculptor (of infinitely lesser caliber) I couldn't help but pipe up.

 I meant only that the same person made them, and Brigitte Eberl is one person. But for being made from the same person they seem rather different. I am sorry if I mixed up the names or seemed unclear of what I meant. I love horses but don't care much for the "celebrities", and I love model horses but don't know the names of the people making the original models. 
 And I just find it strange then the same brand uses different plastics. Thinking both these molds are special editions why not make them both either of the hard or softer plastic? I did not mean the artist was allowed to choice the plastic, I just found it either weird or irritating on a small level. 
 I am sorry if my English or just me in general are confusing.

Oh, sure. I didn't mean to labour the point (much) - and I don't care much for the celebrities involved either -, I mostly just wanted to let the sculptor be named since the figurines' designer was, too. There's nothing wrong with your English nor your general comprehensibility - I was mostly just "writing it aloud" so anyone reading wouldn't be left with the idea that Ms. Werth did the sculpting; I didn't mean to try and correct you directly. Sorry if I came off that way.

I've been puzzled by the different plastics same companies use on simultaneously run models, too. It's especially bad when done by a company who knows their horses are extensively customised and still choose two plastics that look the same but react to, say, heat very differently. I've destroyed a few Breyers that way..

Thank you for showing  I have considered getting the Don. I might consider more seriously now 
I wish MPV would do more of these true Special Editions with unique sculpting.
