PostSubject: A lucky bid   Sat Jun 23, 2012 4:26 pm

For someone who does not COLLECT Safari models, I must say I have been very lucky lately Rolling Eyes

Tody I got a most fantastic model from Scott !
But I will not show it today. Laughing
The weather is not suitable for taking pictures, so let me show you instead some models I got in one bid on Ebay.de a couple of weeks ago.
Actually I was - as always - looking for "Fuzzy Farm" models, and also a mom for the lovely Polar bear baby, Krisie has given me.

The seller had used the nice, but not very rare, vulture for bullyland as the sensation in the lot, and two "China" models, which turned out to be from Toy Major :
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

There was a great, retired mom to my bear cub, a beautyful, retire Bison, and the old colour of the river otter :
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Nice Authentics from the African Habitat-series :
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

And some from the rain forest series, too Very Happy
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Here is my little flock of otters. The one to the right was one of the very first Safari models I got, several years ago Wink

The little bear got a wonderful, old mom Very Happy

A mighty bison with a huge head Shocked Very Happy
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

There was no lion from the African set, so here the older one has joined the little gorillas. The one with red eyes is the new one, - to the right is the gorilla from the toob, just for comparison.

Here the new rhino and bright gree croc with their older mates :

So far a wonderful, great catch at a reasonable price Very Happy

But, loook, what was standing in the background in the picture in the auction

Can you guess ?

Fantastic find! That Oryx calf is amazing! And I hope you find the adult; I have always admired that model from seeing pictures (never in real life though); it would be a wonderful acquisition.

Yes, I can search and hope. drunken
There probably is not much chance of finding that great model, - but hope is green, as we say in Danish Wink

Those are spectacular additions to someone that doesn't collect Safari. Wink
The old polar bear, the first variation of the river otter that is a double for you and many more. What a Face
Is not hard to see a donkey in the oryx calf. flower That's a great find, probably the first young oryx in your collection and a very rare figure. :) Curiously Torben's oryx is missing the calf as well one of the horns! Laughing I hope you can find a two-horned oryx as soon as possible once it is turning rarer. bounce bounce

Oh wow! The adult male is beautiful! How do these Vanishing Wild animals compare in size to the regular Safari and/or Schleich figures? They are bigger, right?
