PostSubject: appaloosa history   Sat Jun 23, 2012 11:10 pm

i was just wondering if anyone knew if there was an older appaloosa horse before the one that was released in 1997? and does anyone think they should release a new one or at least a family to go with it for 2013?
here is the picture for the 13229 and the 13271
on the left is the 13229 and on the right is 1371:

Appaloosas are one of my favorite breeds, so I would welcome some new ones. :)

Here is a photo of my Made in Germany 13229 and Made in China 13271.

It would be hard to pick a favorite of the two as I like them both VERY much. But I have a soft spot for "Traveller" as he comes to me from TWO very nice forum members. :)

Those are the only two Schleich has made. They are some of my favorites as well.

They are some nice models! I have the newer one of the two. The other one is still on my wish list. I think it would be nice for them to make some new appaloosa's seems they retired the others. I think they should start from scratch tho. If they made a mare and foal for the stallion/gelding (can't remember of the top of my head what it is) it would be out of place. They make the models so different these days. Rolling Eyes

very strange how they've not really done anything, probably more bothered on making new breeds although the spots on the back of the horse would be quite attracting for people to buy making it more popular. cheers

I'm not sure Schleich will make new Appaloosas soon. But you can find a lot of Appaloosas in Schleich like brands.
Safari has a beautiful mare and foal, Papo also has it, CollectA in 2 colours from Deborah or the recently done in 2012 Mojo Appaloosas by Ana Dobrowolska. :)
My favourite of all is this repainted one that is a unique piece and belongs to Ana's Mother! I love you
