There is a Papo mandrill (??) at the local hobby shop that has caught my attention once or twice. I like his coloring, but he looks so mean! Shocked

Great monkeys Andreas and Susanne!

Andreas, what is the monkey in the first picture -- it is the farthest back, has a striped tails and a pale mane surrounding its face? I love that!

Susanne, those AAA Baboons are awesome! I love them. Best baboons I've ever seen.

Wow! We had no idea there were so many wonderful Monkey models!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
To the Tipple-Topple and Elastolin sculptors and painters, monkeys were all plain brown, and came with or without tails. They were modelled on Barbary Apes and Rhesus Monkeys, sometimes with features from both. These are some Tipple-Topple composition Monkeys from Pfeiffer.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
And these are some Elastolin composition monkeys from Hausser.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Lineol composition . Left to right: a 1930's Monkey and two in smaller scale from the 1950's.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Composition Baboons. Left to right: Lineol 1930's male; Elastolin male; Lineol male and female from the 1950's.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Large plastic Baboons. Left to right: Safari female; AAA female; Toy Master young Baboon, with Mandrill-type face-paint.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Mandrills. Left to right: Chap Mei; Miller; Safari; Hausser/Elastolin composition; and a home-made specimen.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Two big plastic AAA Mandrills.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
AAA also glued a baby to their big male Mandrill and sold him as a female. Here he is, with three small K and M's.

Sue & Lesley, many thanks for showing, at your pictures we can also see a part of history and development of our models.
Each time has its own special feature! I love you

Sue and Lesley: As usual, WOW. What a wonderful collection! I especially love the composition baboons. And the Chap Mei Mandrill is kind of terrifying. Thank you so much for sharing!

Sauroid: I love both those monkeys. The second Baboon is really nice. (I also have exactly two monkeys, by the way. A mandrill and a baboon. We should form a club: the 'two-monkey' club.)
