PostSubject: Re: CollectA dogs   CollectA dogs - Page 2 EmptyThu Aug 16, 2012 6:51 pm

Here is a pic of the safari ltd. collie.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
He is a bit big compared to some models, but he is a really nice figure in my opinion. But the bandana is a bit of a let down. And maybe someone could take it off and resculpt the neck? That would be a fun project to watch. And Scott I love your bulldog, very nice. Oh and the mixed bred dog in this pic kind of looks like a shaved rough haired collie to me. A little. Or a short haired collie. Not really like a true mix.

I think the Collecta Chow chow is better looking - the bullyland one is cute from front view but side he's quite ugly!

Thanks Ken! cheers

I didn't realise how tiny the dachshund was, on my wish list... bounce

Thanks for the pictures Ken!

Just out of curiosity, Harriet, when you say "the Collecta one is better looking - the bullyland one is cute from front view but side he's quite ugly," do you mean the Great Dane?

And Susanne, does "not the best one, but really cute" refer to the CollectA Chow?

I like all the Great Danes, but they are quite similar, especially the Schleich and the CollectA. Having the Schleich already, I can't help wondering if getting the CollectA is really worth it (even though I like it).

The CollectA Border Collie's face looks so odd to me (the placement of the eyes perhaps?). Honestly, I think that a really great repaint of the Papo Border Collie would be ideal.

Oh I meant the Chow Chow, I'll edit that as it's confusing.

I'm hunting for the old Bullyland Great Dane, he looks wonderful and probably my favourite out of the four. I really don't like the new Bullyland Dane, he looks goofy.

Harriet is this (picture from Willy's site) the older Bullyland Great Dane that you're looking for? (I ask just out of curiosity. I wish I had a lead, but I don't.) If so, it is lovely! I can understand why. I think I like the Schleich more than the CollectA, but I think that this Bullyland is stronger than the Schleich. (However, of those three, I've only seen the Schleich in person, so I'm speaking from ignorance.)

Since we're posting pictures of CollectA dogs, I thought I would add two more pictures.

First, a picture of the CollectA Cocker Spaniel:

I'm not sure what I think of it.

Next, even though Ken already posted a picture of the Bulldog, here is the CollectA Bulldog (on the right) next to the Bullyland English Bulldog (on left).

Great pics everyone! I especially love that cocker. Since we had a stray come in our yard (he turned out to be a cocker, and we kept him) I love them!

The Dachshund,Welsh Corgi and Yorkshire Terrier are a bit too small in my IMO.

I love the CollectA Dachshund and I even like how small it is, but there's no denying that it is a very small model.

Here it is next to one of the Schleich Raccoons. It's about the size of my pinky finger.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I've had the opposite problem with the Bullyland black dachshund that (I think) was released this year (item no. 65441; seems to be called 'Apollo'): I worry that the model is too large for me. I'd love to see some pictures of it, if any one has him, and especially some pictures of that model with perhaps some common Schleich models -- like the raccoon -- in order to get a sense for how big he is.
