Got these nice models of cattle and horse in the 1990s in Walmart in the USA while on holidays.Only thing is that I wish I had bought more as they were only around for a short time and are hard to get now
Also a picture on back of one of the models packaging showing what other cattle were available.

Beautiful cattle and horses! I rather like ERTL products, but those are pretty hard to find, and sadly I don't have any. Crying or Very sad

As a kid I bought every ERTL horse, and some of the cattle. I still have them, but they are not in very good condition. They were some of my favorite toys so they got played with a lot. My favorites were the paint stallion and the percheron.

Nice cattle, I didn't know they made those! cheers I have a couple of their horses, and they're really nice. They're about the size of Breyer Stablemates, but made from softer plastic. There are some nice - if smallish - photos in the Model Horse Gallery:

The big, haired models are beautiful, but sadly rarer than hen's teeth/Battat minis/honest politicians/etc. I've only ever seen the Lippi for sale.

Part of why I had so many of the small guys was because I was trying to save up for the big long-haired lippi. If you collected enough cutout cards from backs of the carded ertls and sent them in, you got a free "treasure" horse. Sadly, I never got one. I don't know why, I should have had more than enough cards. I don't know if there was any other way to get the big horses.

I really like these Ertl series, they were great. I remember seeing them in the stores but never bought any.

I got a horse the other day in a random thrift store bag that I thought was an ertl as i could make out one E on the tummy. Later when i'm looking at it at work i can see that it is a plaster copy of an Ertl.

Second horse from the left is a fake plaster erlt
