For those of you on the forum that sculpt, I have a question. What materials do you use? What type/brand of clay, wire, tools, paint, etc. do you prefer using? I have seen many great sculptures lately by our great members and just wondered. Thanks.

P.S. If you could post step by step pics or videos of how you make your art peices that would be very welcome too!

I'd like to know too!! I have just started a horse but I hate the medium I'm using. It drys way too quick, cracks as drying and is very heavy. I'd relly like to know what you great sculpters use!!

I like air drying epoxies, Magic Sculp and Aves Apoxie are the ones I am using at the moment. I also have some oven bake clays, super sculpey and sculpey firm, which I mix together 50/50. As for wire, I prefer something that I can bend easily, so I avoid overly thick wire.

You can pretty much use anything for sculpting tools though. For example the tips of knitting needles are good for sculpting surface detail XD

Here is my painting stuff too :)

The little bottles are Vallejo acrylics, and the bigger ones are varnishes.

If you see something in these photos that you would like to know more about, just ask Cool

Good site for learning how to sculpt, resources, etc [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Wow, thanks Tyrantqueen. Tylo, I am sure I am good hands. So Tyrantqueen would you share pics of some of your models you have done? I would love to see them. Or the next time you do a model could you post pics of how you did it? Thanks.

I use Super Sculpey, and my tools are a needle, a little spoon and my fingers :) recently I added some small ballpointed tools, I don´t know the name.
