Oh, Harriet, what a stunning collection! We particularly like the Schleich Giant Schnautzer, the Kaiyodo Dobermans and the huge Airedale.

In the 1950’s, Timpo made a range of dog breeds called “My Pets”. They were bigger than the 54mm farm and zoo animals, but exactly the right scale for dolls’ houses. Many dolls’ house in UK museums have a Timpo dog or two!

Some ranges of metal 54mm collector-figures have dogs. Tim Richards sculpted the Spaniel and the two beautiful Afghan Hounds for Phoenix Miniatures. The other two are Pharaoh Hounds from Rose Miniatures’ Egyptian range.

Lovely photographs, Harriet! Wonderful models. It's so nice to see some amazing dogs kicking off this thread! I really like the Bullyland Doberman and Beagle at the beginning. And the head of the grey Kaiyodo Doberman that you did yourself is amazing!!

(I haven't even got a chance to look at Sue & Lesley's pictures yet. I'm very excited though! and I do see the dachshund with the long tail that I noticed in a previous post. Love that dog.)

Thank you everyone, I saw that big Airedale and couldn't believe how beautiful it was so I didn't hesitate in buying him even if he was massive!

Sue and Lesley, your collection is absolutely marvellous!! I just love these older models, they're so full of character - like Scott, that little long-tailed dachshund is adorable!

Simone, beautiful collection!! The older version of the fox terrier looks like a lakeland terrier! They're my favourite breed, lakies.
