FURUTA birds ? Empty
PostSubject: FURUTA birds ?   FURUTA birds ? EmptyWed 25 Jul 2012, 12:46

Some of my Kaiyodos have arrived without booklet or any other additional info about them. So I'm looking for the product numbers and series that they come from. Sometimes I don't even know what species the animals are, or I know it only in Finnish scratch

So here are a couple of birds to begin with:

1. Maybe a japanese bush warbler?
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

2. Tundra swan?
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

3. Little tern?

They might be from a booklet Andreas has shown on the forum, but I can't really tell.

Feel free to use this same thread if you have similar questions about your Kaiyodos :)

(OT: Eudict seems to be a good website for translating species.)

They are SO lovely drunken

And it is a VERY good idea to have a place for translation-questions !
Often I can use Wikipeia, if I know the name of the species in Danish, but it does not work for the very rare ones Rolling Eyes

They're wonderful Noora! Congrats cheers
The swan might be a Tundra Swan but maybe a Whooper Swan? The tern looks very much like a Little Tern, yes. On wikipedia that pattern on the head is said to be their breeding plumage, normal head pattern is just black like this [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

The swan's beak colours look more like a Bewicks Swan (Tundra Swan) [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
The whooper is quite similar [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] but has less black on the beak.
