Tylo, yes, I probably will repaint that Chameleon one day, because the original paintjob is damaged anyway :S

Anyway, now I have my very own (AAA) Gator Pet Very Happy

Got another one today. I struggled with taking photos of this guy, my camera is not behaving the way it used to Mad There is a scratch or some kind of weird black line on the lens, and I can't get it off no matter how much I wipe it with a cloth.

Anyway, this is the Safari Incredible Creatures "Emerald Tree Monitor" (although I have been informed it is not one) I am very impressed with this figure, it fits in really well with the rest of my casted AAA reptiles.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The only thing I don't like is the badly painted on eyes and mouth.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The neck is weird looking though Suspect

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

My old AAA monitor for comparison :)

Despite a few flaws, I love it a lot, and I am glad I picked it up I love you

I thought this would be appropriate for the thread

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

lol!

But seriously, I do have a new fella. Big thanks go to Seijun for her help in getting me this one cheers

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

If this guy looks familiar, it is because the sculpt is recycled from another monitor I already aquired, earlier in this thread. Also, note that his colouration is also recycled from another monitor I own. AAA obviously don't have much imagination Rolling Eyes

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Could this be version 1 and 2? The original sculpt and a cheap knockoff? Or a male and female? Who knows...

It's also interesting to note that the lemony coloured lizard is much less detailed. He is also made of a plastic-y, stiffer and lighter material. And lastly, he doesn't have AAA stamped on his belly. The green and blue guy is heavier, rubbery and has much superior detailing.

They sort of look like pterodactyls, with those beaky mouths silent You can really see the difference in detailing here.

Thanks for looking cheers

I am glad your lizard made it, and so quickly!

I dont think the AAA is a knockoff of the other lizard. The AAA lizard was made from molds taken off of a dead specimen. The other lizard was probably made the same way, and the original dead lizards were positioned very similarly. My rule of thumb is that if the plastic reptile has a realistic cloaca, then it is most likely cast from a dead specimen.

That's a clever way of looking at it, it makes sense to me. I know about the lizards being cast from dead specimens (that's why I love AAA's reptile line so much), but I thought that the lemony coloured lizard was a knock off simply because of the lower quality of the sculpt, as knock offs often are sunny

Thanks for dropping by, though flower

Oh, ok. I misunderstood. I thought you were saying the AAA might be a knockoff of the lemon lizard. The lemon one does look lower quality and I agree it could be a knockoff of the AAA version.

Kaiyodo Animatales green grass lizard.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Like everyone has already said, the details on this Kaiyodo are really good despite its tiny size :)

Here it is with a big Safari monitor, so you can get an idea of how small it actually is sunny
