Maybe I'm repeating myself, but what an impressive collection and wonderful display have you got, Takashi!!!
By the way, I noticed you put Schleich ibex to Asia. Do you consider it to be a Siberian ibex?

Haha, Kirill, I'm sure I love you !!! I love you I love you Laughing Laughing Laughing
Probably it's been my dream to exchange such conversation !! sunny sunny
Well, I DON'T think he is a Siberian, because of his horns shape. I think of course he is Alpine.

However, when I intend to make Asian diorama,I always worry about Mega makers' disregard for Asian ungulate...There're no Indian antelopes,
Onager & any other Asian wild asses, various/ unique type of wild sheep, goats and serows as well as Asian beautiful deers.. rendeer
Even there is NO Asian water buffalo!! I must say it's a kind of their negligence.. Mad Mad
(Of course I can understand their concern about sales; Probably they cannot have confidence in their customers' ability to distinguish them from Europeans, or even domestic animals!)
Anyway, I continue to pursue such amazing animals..

Oh Phil, you're Sansei !! Very Happy Very Happy :) flower
And you know very much about Tokyo's "hip" reataurants, or rather,1990's"ryouri-no teshijin" !! I knew Mr.Sakai very much because we were member of the same fitness club.
(Actually, ) Some of these restaurants including Queen Alice already closed, but I don't know (and now I've got to know )it'll be renewed as "Iron Chef"!? Wow!! affraid Very Happy Very Happy
I can strongly recommend that you should be Japan again, meet your great family in Kansai and, more than anything, spend a nice relax time in Onsen !! Very Happy Very Happy drunken
As you know, in Japan you can even take a bath in hot spring with monkeys !! monkey monkey cheers

Ahh, I see. There aren't many (or any at all?) mass producted takin figures... Great job Ana!<3

I'm interested in all kinds of art, but Japanese illustration is very dear to me.
I studied Japanese and Japanese culture in the university for 5 years, so I have kinda special relationship with Japan : D

When I was younger, I used to read manga, but not so much anymore. Currently I really like Japanese modern art and graphic design.

Takashi, thanks for telling about the video about the tamandua and sloth. I haven't seen it before and I enjoyed it a lot. I watched videos of tamanduas standing on 2 legs several times but never because of sloth. That's very funny although my Japanese is not very good but I'm sure the man commenting is saying that the tamandua is trying to help the sloth but it is too heavy for him. Laughing alien

面白いなぁ~!

My written Japanese is now a bit rusty, since I haven't written it in ages. Last summer I worked as a guide in the Helsinki airport so I got a chance to re-activate my spoken Japanese a bit.

I used to read mostly shoujo style manga when I was a kid/teen. From the 90's/2000's : )

My favourite Japanese illustrators now are probably Junko Mizuno, Minako Saitoh Botsford, Yoshitomo Nara, Ryohei Hase among others. (My favourite non-japanese artists are Mark Ryden and James Gurney.)

Thanks for recommending the topic about the takins! Because there are so many people and lovely posts in this forum, so I sometimes don't catch all the interesting topics!

I liked titles like Fruits Basket, Paradise Kiss, Sailor Moon etc. : )

I absolutely Yoshitaka Amano's art! I like the way he uses line, so subtle and delicate. He has also done collaboration work with Neil Gaiman, who is one of my favourite authors.
I also like some pieces by Makoto Aida, but most of the time, his work is a bit too guro for my tastes...

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Balthus : ( ...
