Thank you Collecta Empty
PostSubject: Thank you Collecta   Thank you Collecta EmptySun Dec 30, 2012 7:37 pm

Many of you already know I was very dissapointed with the quality of most of my Collectas (about painting and matherials). I wrote a polite letter to the company telling them the reasons I didn´t like the models and they answered me very fast telling me thank you because of my mail. And they sent me a surprise box! A big one I must say. See what was inside:

One of the models was the tobiano TWH. The mainproblem with this one was the paintjob (the markings looks unrealistic) and the matherial. The new one, the one without the lavel, has the same paintjob but the matherial is a bit harder, so that´s a big improvement :)

The "grullo" Mustang mare was other of my problematic models. My old one can hardly stand because of her bended legs. I took advantage of the photo and claimed for a better dun paintjob. A new one was inside the box, she can perfectly stand, she´s made of the a-bit-harder matherial. But the paintjob continues being so unrealistic.

The QH were very odd. They stand with their pasterns instead of with the hooves, specially the bay one. In addition, my sorrel one has a very bad painted mane. With the Mustang and the TWH there were a couple of QH, the bay and the sorrel. And I must say I´m very happy with them! Very good pose and good paintjob on manes:

Anddd... One of the 1/12 arabians! The bright bay. Damn, he´s GORGEOUS! I only dislike his pear-shaped body. Anyway if you look at him with the propper angle that´s not a problem :) He´s full of details. Much more detailed than Breyers. He´s made of a sort of rubber, similar to the rubber used for making the little ones, and it seems to be (how do you say "not massive"?). Not as heavier as I thought.

Here a size comparison pic with the Schleich Hannover stallion:

In addition I got a big bag, very useful to do the shopping!

That's awesome! I'm so glad they got the plastic problems sorted out - I'm dying to get my hands on the new models. Very Happy
Collecta and Mojo both deserve credit for working actively with hobbyists and really making an effort to turn out quality models, rather than just settling for the lowest common denominator. Sad(o)):

Wow, Silvia! That is fantastic! Could you say more about the difference in material? Is the new plastic more like the material you'd find in other collectA figures? How would you describe it?

Congratulations on such a wonderful package. I'm impressed by CollectA's attention to your concerns!

It´s difficult for me to compare with other Collecta figures because I have no other than horses. I could describe the new matherial... like the old soft rubber with a bit of the hard plastic of Schleich. Very similar to El Santo by Bullyland.

In fact I´m also impressed by the attention I received. That shows Collecta is trying to do things WELL, and I, as a collector (should I say "collectress" because I´m a girl?), really appreciate it.

Oh yes, I forgot to add a HUGE 2013 catalog that was inside the box too! DIN A4 size. Looks like a book instead of a catalog :)
