PostSubject: Willybacoman's 2010 additions   Wed Apr 07, 2010 4:19 am

I had the possibility to make a trade with a German collector in the last month, and finally after almost 3 weeks this lot came in.
He made a mistake, by sending me the Starlux kudu, instead of the Oryx, but he reserved it for me now.
The good thing was, that it was better then the one i had(because this one was damaged), and it was very different in the painting.
Next to that, a nice little group of Starlux pink flamingo's were in the lot, and a complete new parrott standard with a macaw and cockatoo, new in the bag.
Now the part of my vitrines, that contains the 1:32 scaled birds(without the raptors) is full!
In this trade, there were 2 models from Preiser Elastolin too, in the 1:25 scale, the Grants zebrafoal, and the yack ,both in the original box, so mint and boxed as they say.
Now that was a fine trade!  Very Happy

Willy, great stuff, I love that kudu, if you see another one for sale please let me know, that and the Starlux nilgai, I have been looking for both of those figures even though I don't want them for the dioramas.

I really like the flamingos as well, please tell me one thing though, I don't knwo the size of the zoo keeper so I can never tell how big the figures are, could you give me his height?
Thanks
Phil

They're fantastic, the parrots are really great. I love the bigger zebra foal and the Yak, so good they came in their original boxes too.

Thanks guys!

I will keep my eyes open for you Phil of course!
Starlux made a nice group of antelopes indeed.
I need the nilgai myself too.
But like i said, the collector with which i made this trade, made a mistake by sending me the kudu, instead of the oryx.
But it came out good, as mine was damaged, and different in painting and colouration.

The Preiser Elastolins are still in production Holly, so when you stumble on them, you must only see that you don't pay too much.
In this case it was a trade, so then it is a matter of what you trade for them.
So it is easy to find them with boxes actually.

Preiser bought the old moulds from Hausser, and thank God, they did not make all of the Hausser models again, but for that they copied some of the older Hausser composition models, like the yack, which was never made in the earlier plastic series from Hausser.
I do have 23 of them, 8 from the farm series, and 15 from the zoo series.
When i find the time, i will put them all in the collections part of the forum.

Great figurines in perfect condition. I agree that the flamingoes are really, really nice. I'm surprised that there are few such models by contemporary makers.

Philter4:

The Britains zoo-keeper is 1:32 indeed as Kiki said, the height is 5,5 cm.

Schleich61:

Yes, Starlux made lovely models, much different species and in nice positions too.
now i have a nice flock of flamingo's for my 1:32 scale zoo later.
I have these 5 Starlux, 3 Hausser Elastolins, 2 Britains, and 4 copies of the Britains by other makers.
Here are some pics of the other flamingo's from the flock.

All models are from the 1970s, as the 1:32 scale was the most common.
