PostSubject: Some giraffes   Wed Oct 13, 2010 6:02 pm

Hello flower

I enjoy seeing the pictures of the collections that others have. So here a little contribution.
Some of the oldest giraffes I have.

The ones in the middle are Reisler and from the mid-50s
Others are Schleich.

Funny, I have had the small Classics for many years and did not know what they were, I only thought they were cute. But all the yellow lil`ones had a pattern. I was only recently I accidentally got one with smooth surface Very Happy

Thankyou to you, Harriet and Sergey.

Sergey asks if they are dear to me, yes all of them, but most the Reisler ones.
When I was 5 years old I got very badly injured and was not able to walk for almost a year.
People brought me candy, but my mother asked them to bring little plastic toys instead.
Those Reisler Giraffes I have had for 53 years !!
The tail is broken off, but it makes it even more dear to me Very Happy

Ohhh, do you have a picture of the brown bear, Sergey ?

Maybe many of us collectors had plastic animals when we were little ?
All of my old ones have a red dot of nail polish under their foot. That was because one of my little friends also had some, and it would be teriible if she got mine or I got hers when we played with them Very Happy

PS, the name of my Reisler Giraff was Ellen, I don`t know why flower

That's a nice name, there were a lot of feminists with the name Ellen, there's a place near Harriete with this name, and it's the name of Noahs paws Affrican female elephant!!! The Nohas Paws female giraffe is Grace!
