I got my second most holy of Holy Grails!!!!!

i am absolutely dancing! For almost as long as i have been collecting sheep my wish list has been topped by two very Holy Grails, #1 of which i assume i'll never get because it's very rare and very very expensive, and i despaired of ever getting Holy Grail #2 because it seems even rarer. It is the Hagen Renaker mini Early Mama Sheep. She is one of the rarest of all regular issue Hagen Renakers, if not the rarest, as she was produced for only a few months in 1949. She is so rare that there isn't even a photo of her in the Hagen Renaker's collector's guide. I'd never seen one, I've only ever seen one photo of her, in the on line HR Museum, so when i saw one on ebay, i literally couldn't believe my eyes-- i was stunned, was i really seeing what i thought i was seeing? i quick went and checked the Museum and yes, it actually was Her! and on Buy It Now!!! my hands were trembling as i tried to log in and my brain was in such a whirl i couldn't remember my password, so i called a friend to ask her to buy Her for me and she wasn't home, and oh dear it was Buy It Now and if anyone else saw Her i'd be too late and suddenly i remembered my password and got in and hit Buy It Now and She was MINE!!!!!!!!!
I was jittery for days until She arrived. When i finally held Her in my hands, it was hard to believe. I go sit in front of the collection just to gaze at Her in awe.

Tessy knows She's very special and keeps extra good care of Her.

As if getting this Holy Holy wasn't good enough, it was at much less than i'd have been willing to pay..... and She came with Her two babies!

Her lambs were produced for years so while "rare" they are not RARE. The both came in black and white, and i have multiples of each, but when i took these photos, i only had one on hand:

Was this sheep expensive?? Or was also the price good But i know, for the holy grail i am also ready to spend any money

Carolynn, I'm very very happy for you. It is fantastic when a model you dreamed about for years appeared somewhere and you are able to catch it. It is a great and fabulous experience

I also know how you feel when you have something you never see elsewhere, in real or even on the net. I don't know for you but I always feel I have a great responsibility and I'm more a guardian than an owner.

She is beautiful and so are her babies. So glad you were able to remember your password and get her. What a wonderful story and an even more wonderful addition for your collection. It is such an awesome feeling when you get something you have waited so long for. Congratulations.

She is very special surely and babies are adorable too. Sometimes is good to keep our eyes open!

well, yes, she was expensive, because paying that much money for a little bit of broken china is silly, but for Mama Sheep alone i would have been willing to pay almost three times what i paid for the three of them, so no, She was not expensive.
