PostSubject: African Savannah    Fri Feb 15, 2013 6:45 pm

Here are pictures of my second diorama. This is for the wildlife category. It is an African Savannah. This was my second attempt at a diorama. I had a lot of fun making the water and the trees. My daughter helped with the meerkat mounds. She thought that was really fun. She made a couple of them while I was making the termite mound.

Whole diorama and certain sections.

Thanks so much everyone. I love all the comments.

Susanne, the water is made with Woodland Scenics Realistic Water. It can get quite expensive, about $24 a bottle. I used 3-1/2 bottles for all 3 dioramas.

Kelsey, I am glad you like the baobab tree. I actually made it from toilet paper rolls. Wink It was fun to make. The meerkat mounds were made from clay and then I painted them and sprinkled red sand on them when the paint was still wet.

Thanks so much Anna and Sergey.

Sergey, I made the tree. It is actually made from toilet paper rolls stacked and taped together in the shape of a flower and then covered in plaster cloth and then painted and I added the foliage. Glad you like it.
