| Much like the CollectA ones. I wiil post walkarounds for other figures from other companies. Velociraptor Basic Facts Velociraptor is perhaps the most overrated dinosaur on the planet, due to the fact that it has appeared in Jurassic park as a scaly 9 foot hunter with high intelligence. In reality Velociraptor was only 6 feet long, and not as tall as depicted in the film, in fact, the ones in the film were based off another dinosaur called Deinonychus. The real Velociraptor is also feathered and likely climbed trees where it would lunge down on prey from above with its sickle like foot claws. | Thanks for the great pics!
I've been thinking of purchasing this figure, because I think it would make a nice pair with the Papo one. :)
I don't like its rubbery material though... _________________ Krista || zombiebambiraptor.blogspot.com

| That is a nice figure, and I see some feathers, but obviously there's not enough. |

| I decided to bring basic facts to these as well Allosaurus Basic Facts Allosaurus was the Tyrannosaurus of its time, as it ate various herbivores to survive, and it is known for taking on giant sauropod’s in packs, and getting thagomized by stegosaurus. Today, Allosaurus is one of the more common dinosaurs, often being seen as nothing more then a T-Rex with 3 fingers and Crests on its head, However, Allosaurus was not related to Tyrannosaurus, and instead gives its name to a different family of theropods called the Allosaurs, which includes the Australian Australovenator, and the Chinese Yangchuanosaurus. | Thanks Takama. Very interesting basic facts. Usually, most T-Rexes are in 1:40 scale. A velociraptor at the same scale would result visibly smaller than Britains turkey. Prehistoric animals are very interesting to see in scale once some of their most interesting characteristics are their sizes. But, there is such a huge variation in sizes that turns it almost impossible. About poor feathering, I remember this concept being commercially almost refused. Fortunately now there are some figures heavily feathered like Bully velociraptor, Safari microraptor and oviraptor, etc. Schleich is keeping their figures very outdated to not risk commercially but that is anti-educational. I'll never support that kind of strategy, it doesn't matter it is Schleich or any other brand. They use microscopes to find the smallest coin and eyeshades to see the Science progress. |

| Saichania Basic Facts Saichania was a Mongolian Ankylosaur that lived during the late cretaceous period. Its name means beautiful one, because of its heavily armored body that was pocked with spikes and scutes that even cover the front of its legs [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Parasaourolophus Basic Facts. This is one of the more common dinosaurs as it is easily recognized by the long tubular crest on its head. It was a Hadrosaur, so the crest was used to call off to others of its kind, especially around mating season. a Study in the 1990s has possibly unlocked what this dinosaur sounded like, after careful examination of the crest with a Cat Scan, and sound affects programming. Other theories regarding the crest in the past were proven false due to the lack of evidence. The name Parasaourolophus means "Near Crested lizard to Saurolophus" which in turn mean that its a close relative to an Asian dinosaur called Saurolophus and the name references it. There are three species to this Genus, and all of them differ from the shape of the crest. P.Walkeri had a crest that was long and unrounded, P.Cyrtocristatus had a short and rounded crest, and the largest species P.Tubicen had the longest, and straightest crest of all three. | Thanks for posting these. I know Schleich dinosaurs are universally hated on DTF! I have suspicion that some of that venom may be down to the fact that they're a successful European company. A good number of these figures are actually attractive, detailed and very well made. They have personality which is why I collect them |
