PostSubject: Ituri Forest Diorama   Sat Mar 02, 2013 11:37 am

In the past weeks I've completet my first selfmade Diorama-the Ituri Forest as a new home for my Okapi Family.

Here is the first picture of the complete Forest Scene, unfortuantely, the okapis are the only inhabitants for the moment until I've got Colletc's Red River Hog.

I've sued artifical materials as I used also natural things for the grund floor, the trees and the plants. The background are pictures of the great Okapi Exibit at the Bronx-Zoo.

I would like to read some coments about it and I hope, the okapi lovers within the members here will like it. More detailed pictures will follow.

Here are more pictures, you can see here some of the Mayor brand okapi figures, but not all of my okapis figures can be seen on this pics, and unfortuantely, I don't have Collecta's okapis yet in my collection.

Thank you,Susanne 1

The Okapi behind the duiker isn't from a brand, it is a figure, i've bought in 1995 at Rotterdam Zoo in the Giftshop. They are several species in the same style, which was very popular in that time, but I don't know, if this kind of animals are still on sale.

Here are now more detailed pictures, showing the Papo Okapi.

I havn't used flashlight for some pictures, because it gives them a more natural look.

Last swope of Okapi-Pictures today-the last shots of the Papo-Okapi and the first Seighting sof the Bully female and its calf.

My favourite pic is the last one, so the Bully Okapi looks great in this Forest Diorama .

Thank you, Guys.

And here are the last pics with teh Safari and, of course,Schleich Okapi and and the Zebraduiker from Playvisons. I know, zebraduikers aren't native to the Kongo,so they would never meet an okapi in the wild, but they also came from the Tropical rainforst, so I decided to give them also a home in the Ituri Forest.

A few days ago, I've got Collectas Okapi male and the calf-both found a new home in Ituri Forest together with the other members of my big Okapi fanily, here are the Pictures of them and the Okapis from other brands, which I havn't shown yet.

So I think, only the big scale Okapis from Bully and Safari are still misisng n my collection.I hope, Mojö will do also an Okapi in te near future, but otherwsie, there are so many of them now, so i would prefer more antelopes instead of an Okapi.but we don't have to less females...

I've bought These two very nice Okapis in a set at Zoorasia Zoo in Yokohama in japan

Very nice Okapis, Bongo! Laughing
Those are wonderful animals. I believe that soon or later Mojo will make an okapi but I am not sure it will be already in 2014. scratch
I am not a collector of families but it would be a good idea if CollectA released next year an okapi female and a sable calf. But, although I have Ana's bongo, it is much more needed than more okapis. Very Happy

Looks cool! This diorama is really projecting a feeling of depths of the forest where okapis dwell.
And surely pics with no flash look much better. An external source of light, like table-lamp of even a candle, will do better than a flash.

Thank you, Kiryuha.

I hope for the Mojo Bongo, and from Mojo or Collecta, a Forest Buffalo, a Pygmy Hippo and, of course, some duikers for my Ituri Forest Diorama-if they come, I will rename it then into African rainforest Diorama...

An African Forest Elephant could be also a great Addition to it...Very Happy
