Hi guys! I'm new in this forum, I've seen your beautiful works and I decide to repaint some of mine childhood models Wink

I start from these two models of zebra:

and these are the results:

I'm not really satisfied, they look too reflective, maybe I shouldn't use the reflective coat, but since I used "tempera paints" they look too opaque..
..maybe on the next models I'll change something

See you on the next update Very Happy
Hope you like it

Very nice repaints! Congratulations! cheers

I think acrylic paints are more durable than tempera/gouache. Gouache are not water resist until You protect them by fixative. So I think You did it right with the final coat even if it is a little bit shiny :)

That is impressive given that the models look pretty small. Great job!

they still need the "shiny protection coat" what do you suggest? Use it or not?
A friend of mine suggest me to use hair spray, what do you think?

Nice lion too :)
As for protective layer, hair spray may work but I recommend fixative, it's something used mainly for charcoal and soft pastels but will protect these paints too. And it's not very shiny. Hair spray may be not as waterproof as fixative I think (but many students use it to protect charcoal drawings also) scratch

Here's all models with the reference rule

As for the protective coat, I don't really need them to be waterproof, I mean I wont' wash them XD

Oh, I see they have quite nice size too :) Very nice works :)

Yes, actually they don't need to be waterproof, just don't spill tea or coffee on them Wink geek

Once again, GREAT repaints on such small models. But in comparison that one zebra is HUGE. Wink Laughing

Again very nice repaintings. I am sure zebras and giraffes are very hard to paint and you did a good work. Very Happy
