I just learned a new word. But besides that. I just found this wornout little horse. I think it might be a breyer copy. It is from hong kong.

LOVELY model cheers
What a great find ! Good he came to your home to be cherised Very Happy

Yes, it sure looks like a copy of the Breyer vintage new Western horse

I never heard the word "Hackneyed" before, - only the part of London called Hackney, and breed of horse with the same name.
However, "Hack" seems to mean all sorts of things : [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] study

It is mostly nice. I like it a bit. I'm thinking of fixing it up somehow, maybe with clay and some paint. But I'm unsure how the clay will stick and how it will work out, the model is very light weighted and hollow.

According to an lexicon "hackneyed" means "worn". Maybe I simple understood it wrong scratch It is probably some kind of slang word.

Yes, your horse is a copy of the Breyer Western Horse. Most of these copies are made of styrene which sounds tinny if you tap on the side.

Clay will not stick to this horse, but modeling epoxy will. That's what the model horse hobbyists use when remodeling. You might have to look for it on ebay (that's where I got mine); look for Amazing Sculpt.
