PostSubject: Muskox (Ovibos moschatus)   Muskox (Ovibos moschatus) EmptySun May 26, 2013 11:55 am

Hey guys! Recently I've been working on a character from Mass Effect game series. Feeling a need for a break from working, I started to make another sculpture Laughing I patiently kept looking for Schleich muskox, but there were no offers for a long time. Due to this fact I've decided that making a muskox is a good idea. So here it is, not very pretty though, but hopefully it resembles muskox Laughing

Agata, the figure is pretty, maybe only too much pretty. Though, you're being very humble presenting your work. You're hoping it ressembles a musk ox? I think there is no doubts that your figure is clearly recognizable as a musk ox and that there are so many good things on your work. cheers
There is again an accentuated Agata style, what is a signature of your artistic expression but not always producing the best effect in terms of realism. Your figures have all a similar looking, like characters of the same story or as they shared a very close ancestral. What is disturbing is that I am creating a huge empathy with your style. There is a wonderful Planet called Agata with beautiful citizens and your nicely pictured musk ox is one more of many, I hope! bounce flower

Thank you Rogerio :) I agree, everything I produce has a cartoon style which I can't get rid of. I guess it is an effect of my love towards cartoons. I've been drawing cartoons my whole life and I actually can't draw anything realistic. I have never had any teacher who would show me how to make realistic things. Howerver, people like my cartoon style and they got used to it. Even my khajiit sculpture, which is not realistic, is the best of all my figures I've ever made. Sometimes it upsets me that I actually have no idea how to make something realistic, but I'm quite cheered up after looking at contemporary Schleich figures Laughing

Ohh, I think it's very beautiful!!! and is one of my fav species!!! Very Happy I wish I could have a copy of that work, do you making mold?
I don't think it's cartoonish, but as for wild musk ox well it's fur looks too well brushed and clean, maybe someone is taking care of him in the zoo? I think it's very lovely work!!! I love you congratulations!!!!!

I think it's nice that you have your own style, your figures have a charm to them. They have a bit of stylized look which I like. The painting is great.

Your work is much closer to a realistic replica than with a cartoon. It is the reason why I am a little exigent in a good way with you. I'm being selfish and probably trying to instill my own taste when I am not even able of starting a figure.
I wouldn't call your figure cartoonish, I have a classic view of cartoonism and for me it means a kind of exageration of the most noticiable elements. It is not exactly what you do. Your style is marked by a kind of sweetening to a neat and too much organized looking. The brushed fur that Ana commented, the skirt almost straight, the legs competely aligned and mainly, the head, with forehead and muzzle enshortened giving a lovely expression to the animal. As I told, I like very much the figure, it is very beautiful and it is a shame that it is a huge effort to you to replicate it once I would be surely interested as it happened with previous creations. I also wish you good luck with Schleich musk ox, I am sure that soon or later you'll find one for your collection. flower

Beautiful model, beautiful painting and beautiful pictures [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].

Agata, I would be happy to make such realistic animals without loosing my own style. I'm happy to know you are trying to be more realist and I'm even more happy to see that your "touch" is asserting itself models after models cheers

That's what l used for ages! When you do get some tools you won't know why you didn't sooner! l couldn't beleive the difference having good tools to work with made, it was so much easier and more fun too. l actually use mainly dentist tools, they work a treat.
