PostSubject: Shipping costs from various countries   Mon Sep 10, 2012 9:31 am

Often, on Ebay, I don`t understand the prices the sellers charge for shipment. scratch

It could be great to have a place on STS, where we can see the actual costs of shipping from various countries .

Where is the best site to see the shipping costs for your country ?

Here from Denmark ( chose in the right side " Find prisen" )
http://www.postdanmark.dk/da/Privat/Send%20post/Sider/Sendpost.aspx

Brev = letter

One Euro is app 7,50 Kr. ( DKK).

Yes, but unfortunately usually I can't send as a letter, it must be less then 32 millimetres thick what means I wouldn't be able to pack any animal safely Sad (maybe only really small plastic animals but not my works) Sad

Most of the time you will get your parcel in 3-4 weeks.
But shipping from America can take up to three months if you choose the cheapest option to send.
That's my experience.
I had to wait 3 months a few times....
and pay duties on top of that....  Sad

Most times I receive the other person's package before they receive theirs. It seems American international shipping is expensive and slow. Razz

This week I got a parcel from America 3 DAYS after it was sent ! Economy shipping !!!  cheers

I think it depends on the customs authorities. If they decide to check for drugs or other illegal stuff, it can lie there for months !!!! Mad

Once I waited for a month for a parcel from France. I contacted the seller, and he contacted his PO, - and two days later I had the parcel  Laughing

Here is the cost of parcels (boxes) from Poland, it is mainly 56 zloties (at the bottom of the page). There are 4 regions of Europe, North America + Africa, South America + Asia and Australia and Oceania.
http://cennik.poczta-polska.pl/usluga,zagraniczny_paczka_pocztowa.html
If you want to get the price in Euro, just divide Polish Zloties by 4 :)

And here are the prices for envelopes:

The post seems to be very slow these days. And all the sorting centers in NewZealand have closed so now everything, and I mean everything, goes to Christchurch. Which i think is insane, esspecially after all those earthquakes! affraid This means that if I send a letter to myself! (Not that I would) Razz it would go all the way up to christchurch before comming back to me!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think so. It is terribly expensive for Polish people, and since our country does not have Euro currency Evil or Very Mad I think that the cost should be equal for whole UE.

Here are shipping costs from Finland.

Small letters / packets are still somehow affordable, but large shipments are terrible pricey  pale
And you can't track your shipments unless it has been sent as a parcel. No

The previous French International shipping is dead since 1/1/2015 No

The prices have increased A LOT No No No

I don't even want to show the new fees, it is a shame... There is already a petition to protest about the end of the "small international package" option.

Nevertheless, I will use Mondial Relay and the Belgian Post because now their prices are cheaper.  Surprised

It was bad enough that I couldn't send a big box to Australia once... (sold a couple Windstone dragons to someone in Tasmania, they are pretty big and heavy to start with, very fragile and for safety must be double-boxed with lots of padding, and it wasn't a price issue)
Now a small box being sent to Europe was refused by the post office because it was SMALL! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

And it does irk me that I'm on the east coast of the US, east coast or Golden Triangle Canada is much closer to me than most of the western US, but the price is over twice as much. I can see a little more, but 2 1/2 times as much? Let's not touch the Caribbean, parts of which I could drive to in less than a day if the ocean weren't in the way.
