Takams Animasaurus models (Private Collection) Empty
PostSubject: Takams Animasaurus models (Private Collection)   Takams Animasaurus models (Private Collection) EmptySat Apr 18, 2015 9:16 pm

Well there here, the first Two Animasaurus models. I can now give my style walkarounds.

The First model is the

Lurdusaurus aurenentus

From the ‬Elhraz Formation

Lurdusaurus was an iguanodont from the aptian stage of the Cretaceous period, and was found in what is now Nigeria. The most distinguishing characteristics of this animal is a longer neck and heavier build than most other members of the Iguanodont family. Some Paleontologists have speculated that it had a life similar to that of a modern day hippo. This is because the hind feet on this dinosaur  lacked connections suggesting that it had a fleshy pad on them. This is also backed up by the dinosaurs heavier built skeleton thats said to aid in buoyancy when in the water. However, there is no real physical evidence that supports the theory of an aquatic lifestyle

Because of the uncertainty of this creature being amphibious, I had this model sculpted on land. However most Artwork that i seen of this animal show it in a rather static pose. So me and Brandon thought about giving our model a bit more action, and made it run for its life from a carnivorous contemporary that will be made by us in the future.

This model Costs $15, and can be painted in whatever colors you desire

Next Up is

Einiosaurus procurvicornis
From the Two Medicine Formation

Einiosaurus was a Ceratopsian dinosaur from the Two Medicine Formation, and its best known for its nasal horn. The nasal horns on Ceratopsians tend to differ depending on the species, but they are usually pointed and straight. The horn on Einiosaurus is unique because it curves forwards then downwards, forming what would look like a hook. it is believed that as this animal aged, the horn would gain more curvature and it would also be used for display in courtship. In addition to this one horn, the dinosaur has a pair of straight horns jutting out from its frill. The remains of this dinosaur, consist of many individuals, and over fifteen of them were found together in a bone bed. Due to this discovery, it is safe to assume that this Dinosaur moved in herds.

As our First Ceratopsian, I wanted to do something that's rarely done in model form, and Einiosaurus fit the bill nicely. Our model represents an individual eating some ferns, and I asked Brandon to sculpt a bunch of scutes on its back. This is inspired by new information regarding the skin impressions of the more popular Triceratops. Some people think that it had Quills like the primitive ceratopsian Psittacosaurus, but others do not agree as that dinosaur was more primitive then advanced four legged ceratopsians like Einiosaurus.

This model Costs $9, and can be painted in whatever colors you desire

Erectopus superbus.
From the Louppy-le-Château

Erectopus was a Allosaur that lived during the lower Cretaceous period with a name that can be found as a word at urbandictionary.com. The name Erectopus is a combination of two words Erectus and Pous and when used as the name Erectopus, they form the meaning “Upright foot”. The Type material for this dinosaur was first discovered during the late 1800s and was lost to science due to the death of a  man who owned it. However, Casts of some of the material do exist, and it is with these that this name remains to be a valid Genus.

When I first Met Brandon, my first idea for a commision was this obscure animal that I discovered on a comedy website that made fun of its suggestive name. With the animal being estimated at 10 feet long, i had to decide on which scale I wanted this to be sculpted in. At first, i was going to have it at 1:12 scale, but then i realized that it would make it too big for what i was trying to achieve for the line, so i switched it to my smaller scale which is 1:50. But then I got the idea to up the scale of the whole line to 1:32, so this model has become our first in our new 1:32 scale line of models. The Individual we made is looking at the ground to sniff the Earth because its the dry season, and the watering hole he stands in has dried up. His only hope now is to dig for the water, and hope for the best.

Tianchisaurus nedegoapeferima
From the Toutunhe Formation

Tianchisaurus was a an armoured dinosaur from the Bathonian Stage of the Jurassic. This Genus is special for a few reasons. One, it is believed to be the earliest member of the Ankylosaur family, making it more related to genera such as Ankylosaurus and Scolosaurus, and a little less related to genera such as Sauropelta and Nodosaurus. It may have had a club tail, and its cheeks were more primitive than both the nodosaur and Ankylosaur families making them more similar to the likes of Stegosaurs. The other thing that's special about this dinosaur is the fact that studies on this dinosaur were funded by Steven Spielberg who suggested that the animal should have a name that connects it to his hit film Jurassic Park. Initially, the name of this genus was going to be Jurassosaurus with the species name nedegoapeferima which is a composite of most of the actors last names in the movie. However the Name Jurassosaurus was scrapped in favor of its current name Tianchisaurus, but the Species name was retained in favour of the movie. The Genus Name Tianchisaurus means Heavenly lake lizard, and was named after Lake Tianchi near the Tianshan Mountains. It is on these mountains that the first fossils of this dinosaur were discovered.

When i first commissioned Brandem to make this Model, it was right around the time that Jurassic World was arriving into theaters. So with this in mind, i thought i do a dinosaur thats some how connected to the Famous Franchise. Crichtonsaurus was an obvious choice because that Genus was named after the Author who penned every dino fans favorite book. However, I heard that that genus was a nomen dubium, which lead me to commission our second choice, Tianchisaurus. Our model represents an Angry individual, who is being pestered by a predator. Sure Herbivores could be docile at times, But i think if predator were to so much walk near this creature, it would have an awful time, as the herbivores reaction would be to Lay low, and swing his primitive club to ward off the suspecting animal.

They are beautyful, and I enjoyed very much to read abot them, - both the species and what they are doing Applause

I hope that the Erectopus finds water, and that the Tianchisaurus gets rid of the predators Shocked Wink

I just wished that they had chosen the Jurassosaurus part of the name instead of nedegoapeferima, - who on earth can rememeber nedegoapeferima ? scratch Laughing

That Jeep Is a very good Model to use for my dinosaurs. In fact. It is the reason i chose to do my Dinosaurs in 1:32 Scale. It has A Openable hood, doors, as well as full functional steering and suspension. Though im trying to find a 1:32 Scale guy that would go well with the vehicle as that man in a suit does not gye well with the vehicle despite being the same scale
