Finally, the Fjords!

So I'll start this off saying that unfortunately no store near me carries CollectA brand. Safari is everywhere, there's two Schleich retailers fairly close, and another Schleich retailer much farther away. And another store a little farther away that has Safari and Mojo. And then there's the internet. Oh, the internet. Every brand and no brand.  Collector's dream and sometimes nightmare.  

As a mainly Schleich collector, when I discovered the CollectA horses (thanks STS!  ), I was in awe. We all know how Schleich has been doing with their horses in the past years.  

I had been trying to get the fjord stallions from CollectA since the release dates, but even a while after that I couldn't get a hold of them. When I did find one, the shipping was ridiculous. But, I finally found them!   

Here are the beautiful stallions that arrived the other day: (I apologize for the wrinkly backdrop, and I see the first photo is a little blurry)

















You can see here that for some reason the dun's leg doesn't reach the ground.  



These were my first CollectA figures I purchased, and I'm very happy with them!

We'll see how they do in the model horse show I'm going to enter them in... they'll be competing against each other!

And great you finally got the models you wanted so bad! They are a great choise. I have only the Brown Dun, and he does also have the issue with his legs.

CollectA Fjord is a great horse, it has an interesting sculpting. To be better CollectA only need to be easier to find and solve this problem with bendable legs.

Did you try H & H Winners Circle? They carry CollectA and many others, not just Stones and Breyers! I just checked their site and found the Fjord plus several others I'd like to get. A few of the ones I'm interested in are pre-orders.

I haven't purchased from them yet due to poor communication and shipping costs. I've heard mixed reviews about this retailer. I bought these two on eBay.

Have you tried TGF Toys? I think they offer free shipping for orders with amount more than $50 (within USA). And they have very good communication and very practical for ordering.

Thanks!   No, I haven't tried them yet either. It's the shipping costs again, as I am unlikely to spend more than $50 on a website for figures when I can buy most of the ones I want in the stores. If they're not in the stores I'll get them on eBay and combine shipping costs from the same person.

Thank you Karin! Yes, they are wonderful!    You must get the grey one     They're about the same size, I can try to get a comparison photo with a Schleich horse for you tonight.  

You can probably see a dark brown mark on the grey dun's hindquarters in the photos... he came like that in the package.   I took some Pledge All-Surface cleaner and scrubbed the mark off.   That stuff works wonders.

  Yes, you're seeing that right! I got Princess!   Carola will be happy to see this I think.   If it wasn't for her Princess would not be on my shelves.  

Of course Princess is very large, but I think you get the idea.

Where is the dancing smiley when you need it   She is beautiful   (looks like the Made in China version?)

I was very surprised to see you got her, and I'm happy it's kind of my fault  
Now the CollectA Clydesdale and his crew will feel completely at home - or maybe they will flee in fear, as they thought they escaped the pink reign ! But even in America, there is no exile  

She is more of a symbol, than a horse replica, I think    

And hey they look kind of sweet together, those royal types

Haha, I can't make promises, but he is on my WL for sure!   

I see the the mark, always a little 'shock' when animals arrive with those   
  Clean and happy horse, without a marking.

He fits perfectly in my herd. My first though was that he was a bit to big.
But not at all!     And Princess looks very pleased she got a beautiful friend

   Luckily CollectA Clyde hasn't seen her yet. I might just have to keep them apart.
